For my Tri-state area friends, keep an eye on this site for information on the storm. Don't trust any other weather reports - they will hype it up to boost ratings. This is the official government source. As of now, it looks like the storm is hitting NJ and PA, and barely grazing Long Island/NY.

Now that is the scary part, the worse is to come around midnight. By the way if any of yous who live in NY or the tri-state area, try calling 911 and you won't even be on hold instead you'll get a busy dial tone. I guess at this point it's fair to say every man for themselves.
God forbid there's a serious emergency situation, and you can't get through to 911 then what? On top of that, I hope these looters are not going on any robbery spree!

You can't hear anything that I'm saying but this was taken an hour before Hurricane Sandy hits land.I wanted to show how incredible the winds are and that the rain hurts your face when it touches you & you get wet so fast after being outside for 1 minute. They're also evacuating NYU's Hospital, due to back up generators failed, which is one of the biggest hospitals in Manhattan! More than 50 ambulances are lined up to evacuate all patients.

At 7:25 p.m., Ninth Street in Gowanus was a nearly uncrossable river of water.
On CNN, Erin Burnett, is walking through several inches of water, and it's still rising.

Try saltwater with sewage. So far it's been confirmed 17 deaths in total if I'm not mistaken. Which includes a 29yr old man who was asleep in his house and a tree fell on him, also two kids yet killed by a fallen tree into their house.
