Ok, what exactly is going on here? These guys can't be taking anything the other guys aren't taking, but they look decidedly different than most pros. Chris Cormier has this sort of development as well. Any thoughts?

Drugs. Lots of them. What more do you want to know?

Either genetic response, or are simply willing to take more than others. Or have figured out which combination works for them their head growth.
-
Not as pronounced but toward the end of his career Cormier's head was growing too.
-
How does someone workout their forehead to achieve such great results?
-
This is indeed some weird pattern

The answer is Growth Hormone.
Based off of pubmed (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0001723/ (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0001723/)):
Pituitary tumors may produce growth hormone causing giantism in young patients OR enlargement of hands, feet, and facial features (acromegaly) in older patients.
Now, while using a pituitary tumor as an example of how growth hormone can cause acromegaly in an adult isn't the best example, the point is that even when injecting an exogenous source of growth hormone in abundance, the body will start to produce certain side effects, including that of acromegaly (aka Chris "Cranium" Cormier syndrome).

They have nice physiques, but they shouldn't get big heads over it.
-
Ronnie and jay are some of the exceptions
-
Nothing to do with acromegaly. Jaw muscles simply responding to hormonas.
-
its from the all the concentration

Thanks. Your explanatin makes sense but shouldnt this side effect be a lot more common than it seems to be. GH is the norm among pros these days.

Too many intellectual conversations with other bodybuilders is causing their brains to grow exponentially
-
They got big heads when you moved them up into Tier 1
-
Extra cranial protection for the brain. Mother nature's way of looking after the elite. Seeing as bodybuilding attracts intellectual types, it's no surprise that a higher number of bodybuilders would have this genetic quirk.
-
Its the HGH..Makes the cranium grow..

Are you implying that they all sit in a circle oiled up and pumped "debating each other"?

Yes

Those are some head strong mother fuckers
-
Genetic means a lot in bodybuilding. A gifted guy can have better results with less gear/food.
I know a few who use steroids, growth, insulin, 400gr of protein a day and look like sh####t.
-
They are all on the same doses or close to it, it is the HGH, it's just that some are more susceptible to the cranial growth than others. Just like some get gyno and some don't.
It looks fucking weird with the shaved heads though. Someone might need to advise them to let their hair grow back :P
-
thats not chris cormier
-
That's not Donald Pleasance

Alas, that ship has sailed :'(
-
Bodybuilding should be for people with good genes and small heads, so when the growth hormone grows the head then they will have normal size heads.

Jose still has nice hair :P

;D
Some of them probably had small heads to begin with. Some cranial transformations have been extraordinary to say the least. I'm sure someone will be able to provide some nice before and after pictures 8)
-
They are intellectual superiors.

Preliminary phrenological consultation revealed the subjects to be slow-witted adults who were learning-delayed and neglected as children. The personality types identified with the measurement, palpitation, and percussive examination of the heads display a propensity toward an absence of remorse; false and unjustified vanity; reckless impulsivity; petty vindictiveness; and cruelty to others. Limited vocabulary, addiction disorders, excessive use of tattooing, and earning money the Namat-Way are also likely probabilities. These findings were corroborated with the administration of Lombrosian criminality analyses. The tests indicated that the subjects, who seem to gleam with malice in their thongs, fall under the classification of criminaloids, and, therefore, have little hope of moral rehabilitation due to their beady eyes, simian-like ears, and asymmetrical slopes of the cranium. Repeated severe physical punishment is recommended as treatment to delay the subjects' inevitable impulses to steal, lie, cheat, rape, and murder.
