West lost. Bachmannn barely won. No rallies. Two million of them who voted mccain didn't bother rolling out of bed for Romney.
What happens to the far-right tea party now? Is it time for them to reject any of their core beliefs, or at least some of them? Do they stop signing pledges? They're turning off moderates, but it appears at least 51% of the party is moderate, since romney and mccain both won.

God stopped talking to Bachman.
Meanwhile those two brothers spent a ton of money for something that fizzled out pretty fast.

As Mark Levin put it, more moderate Republicans lost than did Tea Party ones. But, it seems to be more of a big deal, when a Tea Party guy gets beat.

What I don't like is the establishment GOPers almost NEVER back a Tea Party candidate, when that candidate beats him in the primary.
The Tea Party guys have already drawn the line in the sand. They aren't backing the House Republicans if they cave to Obama. The narrative already is that "Hey, we listen to you, ran two moderates against Obama and they got killed!! So screw that. No more moderates!!"
No, it's not time for them to abandon their beliefs. I find it funny that we never hear that question asked of libs, after they get slaughtered in an election.
After loss, Romney slammed as ‘weak moderate’ by Tea Party Patriots
A national tea party organization is slamming Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney for being a “weak, Beltway elite candidate who failed to campaign forcefully on America’s founding principles — and lost.”
“What we got was a weak moderate candidate, hand-picked by the Beltway elites and country-club establishment wing of the Republican Party,” Tea Party Patriots National Coordinator Jenny Beth Martin said. “The presidential loss is unequivocally on them.”
The rebuke of Romney from Martin came just minutes after the networks called the presidential race for President Barack Obama. It’s the strongest criticism the group has leveled at Romney.
Now that Romney has lost, the group apparently has no qualms about criticizing him.
“We wanted a fighter like Ronald Reagan who boldly championed America’s founding principles, who inspired millions of independents and ‘Reagan Democrats’ to join us, and who fought his leftist opponents on the idea that America, as founded, was a ‘Shining city upon a hill,’” Martin added.
Martin said the tea party movement is “not going away,” saying that tea partiers “will turn our attention back to Congress, to fight the battles that lie ahead including balancing the budget, repealing Obamacare, cutting the debt, holding the line on the debt ceiling, and the many other issues that will arise to threaten America.”
“With the catastrophic loss of the Republican elite’s hand-picked candidate — the tea party is the last best hope America has to restore America’s founding principles,” she said.

Not quite!
Of the 60 members of the Tea Party Caucus, 46 have already clinched victory. Four others, including Bachmann and West, remain in races too close to call. Six Tea Party caucus members were defeated at the polls, plus another seven who retired, lost a primary or sought higher office. Both tea party candidates who ran for the Senate, Reps. Denny Rehberg of Montana and Todd Akin of Missouri lost, while Rep. Mike Pence won his bid for governor of Indiana.

John Boehnner sounds SO relieved. He weathered the storm of the tea party trying to boot him.
Now he's talking about fixing debt ceiling/new budget issue. Everyone talking compromise.

The Tea Party is the reason the Dems no longer have a monopoly on Washington. And, if Obama fails in his second term, as he did his first term, the GOP will be in prime shape to win in 2016.
Again, The Dems didn't compromised 8 years ago, when Bush got re-elected. They went further to the left. Yet, somehow, they won in 2008.

Did every tea party member vote for Romney?

Sounds like we have politics again
Its been a long time
-
we have compromise again. Both sides are BEGGING to do it. DREAM, budget, and more... Congress hasn't been gettnig a lot done, and boehnner about to change that.
We're going to see those tea party folks assimilating into the mainstream now, or the party will cut their balls off in 2014/$-wise...
Either boehnner takes over while the party is reeling and re-establishes himself, or they boot him. I don't think he gets booted.

Me neither
It would be nice to see something done for a change

Who said that?

Arkansas state Representative Loy Mauch

he clearly doesn't speak for all repubs. that is an extremist point of view, both parties have people like that.

False equivalency. There is no elected member of the house or senate who is a democrat who has espoused anything of comparable ilk.
