Title: Do you feel cheated by a bad spot?
Post by: Irongrip400 on November 29, 2012, 06:58:41 AM
Every once in a while I will change my workout up, every 3-4 times, and go heavy. Lower reps and more break in between sets. Anyway, last night in the gym I had a random spot me. I told him don't touch it unless I stop. He said okay. (No homo) Anyway, my last two reps he touched the bar and said "all you, good lift".  This is why I don't talk to people in the gym, they're mostly idiots. It threw my workout off because of that. Does that bother any of you, when someone grabs the bar when it's not needed, and cheapens the lift?

Only when I'm in the final weeks of prepping for the Olympia and every rep will help chissel my physique so I can beat Phil.

Otherwise....it's not that big a deal. 99% of gym bros are total rookies, what do you expect bro?

True, but he was crushed mentally by the experience. Probably went home, ate fudgesicles and whimpered while watching reruns of Little House on the Prairie.

Isn't any form of "spotting" essentially cheating?

Only way a spot is acceptable is if the bar is crushing you to death. And then, only if the weight is over 3 plates. Under 3 plates = die with dignity.
