All Tom Hardy could do with his build was become a multi-millionaire and movie star.

It's not really fair to compare him to Getbiggers.

  No they don't, but I wasn't the one criticizing him.

  His character was an extreme recluse who lived in a pit in some Heaven-forsaken foreign land. It wouldn't really make sense for him to look the way Bale did in American Psycho.
