no real legends competing in it.
No Lee Hany
No Dorian Yates
No Lee Priest
etc etc etc
Just a bunch of barely over 40 drug addicts.

Cmon bro Dexter is a legend, he won the O against incredible odds and he is not bloated or is not full of insulin, comes in razor sharp. What a bodybuilder should look like. He made history by being the first to win both Olympia and Masters O. He is worthy to be part of "one of the great"
-
Yeah but Dexter is still a current competing pro. IMO he should not be in a masters comp. It should be for older or retired pros.

But then we would complain how shitty they look and how they are tarnishing their legacy, just saying :-\

Agreed. They should have to be off the regular circuit 5 yrs minimum before being allowed to compete in the Master's.

I think the stock of the Masters O just went up, now that the title is being held by a former Mr. O, who is still among the elite in bodybuilding.

X3. There is very little motivation for the old legends to come back. I'd rather see the legends of yesteryear than current pros looking for an easy pay check.

Lee Haney was there, at the lobby expo, and in the seminar. Great person, if you never have talked to him. So was Dorian Yates. And Lee Priest? Did he win anything? Or just complain a lot?
Never the less, NO, we dont want to see them compete, obviously, they won't look anywhere like they did. Ronnie Coleman did a guest pose on stage, and while still huge, was tough to see as he is most definitely not in contest shape at all.
Here are pics of the Legends from the weekend.

Cool pics, Ron. They only made me want to see Labrada on stage again.

clarence bass!!!!
Did anyone back in the day follow his 'ripped' series?

It was asked why some of them are not going back on stage, even with the high prize money. And some answered very simply. It was 10-15-20 years ago, and what they looked like then, the countless working out, the determination of eating 6 times a day and everything else won't work. As well as getting older. It is so obvious. So to have someone great back on stage and don't look great will help them how?
Will it excite the fan who thinks they will see what occurred 20 years ago? Or seeing some one guest pose not in shape might great ly disappoint them more. I enjoyed it far more when they were on stage at the seminar and we got to hear various stories about the times, the competitions, the life back then. Some great stories, and it was good.

agreed.....and Dex and Freeman should not be competing against old men....thats embarrassing....
only people from the mid-90's and before should be competing....and if you are currently competing you should not be allowed
these people should have competed...it would have been an awesome show.
Kevin Levrone
Nasser
Flex Wheeler
Shawn
Mattarazzo
Yates
Haney

Masters is over 40. Dexter, Toney, Dennis James, Ronnie Rockel, Ed Nunn - deserve it. Can't get upset because they are 40+ and are allowed to competed.
Yates, Haney, Shawn, Flex - all were there, but are nowhere in shape to compete, nor do they want to. You need to will to compete, the desire and mindset to attain what you can, and we all know, that is is much harder to do that after 45+.

agreed Ron....but come on.....this show had absolutely no star power.......why have the show at all then if they can't get those guys mentioned above to compete???
or at least have a 40's, 50's and 60's category

No, it wouldn't have. Haney and Yates already have the real things, several times over. The others are happily retired and work much better (in some circles) as "uncrowned" Mr. Os.
The Masters attracts those who have yet to win the actual Olympia or won it just one time (i.e Jackson, Bannout, Dickerson).
