sure... i hire many people who do not have a degree... in sales if you work within a good system and just do the job you will do well
-
Probably harder to get without experience.
Sales is all determination, answering objections, numbers. Generally, obviously more but a lot can be said for persistence and knowing your company and competitors.

Go into car sales. No standards or requirements. If you're breathing and can pass a drug test you're in. The rest is up to you. It's a recession proof job, the customers come looking for you, and if you work your balls off you can make $1000-$2000 per week. Quit/get fired you'll be working in another dealership tomorrow.

the job description said bachelors or equal by experience
but my experience is all in logistics
tried to convince them in a letter that my experience is relevant since supervising a crew of workers requires social and planning skills also communicate with customer service and transportation companies. always looking to please the customer and to meet targets
that these experiences are relevant
???

If you want to make good money at a young age, sales is the job. Not sure what type of sales, but I worked for a heavy equipment company right out of college, and they would occasionally put a non degree having person in the field if they showed promise. I may have been less stringent because of the industry, but I have seen it before. Outside sales is all about being relentless with follow up, and answering your phone. Couple that with a decent personality and you're golden.

I think if you want to be in sales you should go to Barnes and Nobles and get a book on the subject and acquaint yourself with the basics. Also, a real salesman would be applying for five jobs, not just one. A great deal of sales success is due to simply throwing as much as you can against the wall and seeing what sticks. Don't get attached to one possibility.

You generally need to have thick skin and adequate communication skills to do sales.
Not sure you have either.

Go into ass sales. No standards or requirements. If you have a butt and your knees are strong enough you are in. The rest is up to you. It's a recession proof job, the schomes come looking for you, and if you work your balls off you can make $5000-$6000 per week. Quit/get fired you'll be working for another schome tomorrow.

As a territory rep...sure.
Once you try to move to head office as a key account manager or sales manager, you'll get held back. Your job becomes less about meetings and pressing the flesh, and more about forecasting, accuracy to forecast and the demand plan, budget setting and management, account planning, delving into sales metrics from your customer (i.e. reading AC Nielsen data) and mining the data for salient information, managing teams, analyzing the ROI/cashflow/financial impact of larger promotions, etc...all of which aren't very sexy, but necessary in head office positions in larger companies.
Though I certainly won't support that non-university graduates lack the critical thinking skills needed to do the above...let's be honest. When HR departments put internal candidates in front of the Director/VP for promotion/consideration, it's always a safe bet to put the person with a degree. You're a riskier proposition without one. Again...for the head office job.
There are lots of reps out there without advanced degrees, and you shouldn't let that deter you.

Sure it's possible. Willie Loman and Shelley "The Machine" Levene were able to do it, and, by golly, you can, too. Just remember, it's all about 'leads,' and always be closing!
