I bought rings recently and enjoy them for flies and trying to do crosses (not there yet)... but is it just me or are people putting themselves in fucking dumb positions with these new workout tools?

makes my shoulders ache just thinking about how much could go wrong

I know Tebowing and Planking were all the rage. I'd like to see "Chaining" be a new phase.
People could pose anywhere, wearing heavy ass chains.
Standing at the bus stop. Sitting on the crapper. Riding shotgun. With giant chains on your shoulder.

It hasn't hit aussie yet and lets hope it stays that way. It's too hot here...the chains would burn your skin.

Chains are reserved for the bedroom only.

Yes, definitely not the gym that's for sure.

"Hmmmm, I'm Mr. T, why these fools bitin' on my style. I'm the one who came up with wearing tons of heavy ass chains. I pity the fool who bites my style...Hmmmmm!"

Yeah, my shoulder has really been playing up on flat bench recently, fuck all of the gymnast shit.
-
Which gymnast includes chains into his workout?
These rings are there to lend credibility where none is to be found.

Ring pushups are actually better than almost any other pressing movement when it comes to shoulder stability as the scapula are not PINNED in place and have free movement. Ask Cressey, ask waterbury etc...

Fixed.

looks like the same position as a regular pushup or bench.

Ring pushups or flyes do feel AWESOME on your pecs.
-
If you just want big pecs, why do this stupid exercise? It looks unsafe, doesn't focus attention on the pecs, forces you to stabilize and activate a bunch of smaller muscles...
I guess if you're a gymnast it makes sense. If not, just another fad exercise from all the T-Nation contributors who spend too much time foam rolling and not enough time getting big.
Just do some pushups if you're hard up. Why do you need $500 in equipment to do a pushup now?

You can get a greater range of motion and you have to use balance to stabilize yourself. If you ever used mcDonald cambered type bar for benching you would see you can really can get the bar a lot lower if your chest wasn't in the way.

This helps with strength training.

This helps with strength training.
Sure does. But you don't need to be strong to have big pecs.
Easier ways to build a big chest. No?

Easier in the context of less exercises, maybe.
I would argue that it's safer to build a big chest by strengthing stabilization as well.

yes, this is incredibly and endlessly retarded.
fuck, how i hate these chains that are supposed to make that look hardcore or somethinhg.
It has the exact opposite effect. :D

not really, your scapula can move but you have all kinds of dangerous random forces on the shoulder from the wobbling rings.
pushups with weight or band resistance allow your scaps to move but aren't unsafe and ridiculous looking.
There was a set of hanging rings in my old gym.. until someone tore a bicep douching about on them, then they put the rings safely away in storage.

the goal isnt to build big pecs, it's too look manlier than everyone else, for some reasons. The chains shaved head, goatee , ILS etc. Retarded. Would love to see how these clowns end when they age, probably cant move anymore, staying in a couch all day long cause any movement would make them suffer.

OH BOY
What will Branch Warren do next to sell his Hardcore Training Gimmick

i agree... but not at the risk of my shoulders (weight on the neck is bad news imo)
