When is Hollywood going to bring back such 50s, 60s and 70s staples like Bonaza, Gunsmoke, Big Valley, Kung Fu The Legend Continues...shows that had plots, pretty women, violence, and manliness.
Ok, there was the Wild, Wild West movie...

Current culture dictates that you could not make a Bonanza, Virginian, Gunsmoke, Rifleman, Rawhide, etc, etc. Won't work. About 7 or 8 years ago they tried to do a remake of Bonanza (I think it was called Ponderosa). It was horrible.

Westerns are for Baddasses
it wont sit well for today's metrosexual males

The True Grit remake was good.
-
Hollwood wants to erase men being cool n macho.
-
Unforgiven, in a sense, was a remake of the whole genre.
-
Damn good movie here. True Grit.

3:10 To Yuma with Christian Bale and Russell Crowe was very good.

at least try and make a show for cable, where they can be more liberal with the violence and nudity and have more freedom with stories.
Yeah, I understand that the current climate doesn't bode well for Westerns.. I think the only show on network tv that had somewhat success back in the 90s was Briscoe County Jr.
And Nails, I think the Lone Ranger may be good.

seems like Native Americans didn't like that Tanto role, so Mr. pirate gets another check from Disney...
Also, I think they could do another The Phantom, just call it Ghost Who Walks, and focus on the origins of The Phantom.

no country for old men has a lot of "western" elements and was great.
ridley scott was planning on doing mccarthy's "blood meridian" for a while, which might have been incredible. i think the project has been canned for now?

Actually, they did that shit in the 1870's......
-
It's better they leave them alone. By today's standards they would have Clint Eastwood played by some fag with leather chaps and a dildo on the saddle.
