-

There is a good documentary on Netflix about her, names Atlas Shrugged, or When Atlas Shrugged. It's about the book and her life, you should check into it. You will then fall further down the rabbit hole as you are given other suggestions to watch due to liking that movie. You'll be goose stepping with the best of them in no time, bro! :D

ok, fasten your seatbelts:
" In 1976 she retired from writing her newsletter and, despite her initial objections, reluctantly allowed Evva Pryor, a consultant from her attorney's office, to sign her up for Social Security and Medicare"
FUCK HER AND EVERYTHING SHE SAID/
there you go, some hard ass libertarian, eh?
Kind of like that dipshit Buffet who said he should pay the same taxes as his secretary, then didn't. A lot of talking the talk, but not walking the walk in this thread. (que youtube clip from Full Metal Jacket)

Rand was a genius, but like her disciple/worshiper Mike Mentzer, she was also incredibly misguided. Some tents of Objectivism make a good bit of sense, but I liken it to communism: it reads okay on paper, but it's a wreck waiting to happen when practiced to its fullest extent.
I do love what she had to say about appointing women to the highest political positions, though. Hilarious stuff :) And in that clip, she has a point about many philosophies and religions' undue emphasis on the nobility apparently inherent to self-sacrifice. She goes on to call the consequences of that "evil," which I think is simply too broad. However, it can be in the right (wrong?) context. For instance, was an SS officer or kamikaze Jap* pilot ethical to lay down their lives for der Fuhrer/Emperor Hirohito?
*I refuse to accept that "Jap" is an ethnic slur. Calling an Englishman a "Brit" isn't insulting, or a Scotsman a "Scot." Calling a U.S. citizen an "American" isn't regarded an insult, either. What's the bloody difference? There is none, save for the fact that a bunch of people hated Japanese people and called them "Japs." Ooooo... ::)
And to answer my own question, I'd say no, certainly not. Said officer and pilot probably left behind wives and children, people they probably could've supported after the war had they not chosen to selfishly throw themselves on the alter of martyrdom.

Adam Lanza worshiped ayn rand

Wasn't she in the end just an Opportunist?
-
The more we're finding out about mental illness kind of throws a wrench in the spokes of people like Rand who believe all men are created equal.

If you watched the videos you would see her explain that if your money is being forced form you, you deserve it back. No problem of principle as long as you vote to get rid of such scams.
print this out
yo ask this again an again
same as states etting money back that was forced from them, as ron paul did

what objectivists are against the the forced theft of money already earned faily by daeth taxes and these income taxes
switch to www.fairtax.org would be much better for poor middle classes

You can tell she is lying because her eyes are darting all over the place.

oh really, forced from you.
well, this applies to all taxpayers and was the case since, uhm, lets see, before the roman empire.
nono, this bitch was hurting from cancer and seen the fallacy in her flawed logic.
Wel ayn rand is right about everything but israel. Israel is sand and usa taxpyer mney and usa taxpayers own it in my view.

Unlike you, She is thinking, arranging her ideas before she speaks on television which is not easy realtime.

The only book I could never finish, Atlas Shrugged. Over a thousand pages in small type, could have been half as long if she didn't keep repeating herself over and over and over... Worst author ever.
-
I must admit that although long, The Fountainhead was at least a moderately entertaining read. But the point she was trying to get across by the end of novel left a sour taste in my mouth though. Crazy ass bitch.

She has the kind of eyes the CIA looks for in recruits. She totally aware of her surroundings and in the now.

ideally all men should be given equal opportunity
but no.... not all men are created equal, as some are vastly superior to others

1 out of every 24 people on earth are supposedly sociopaths...And Ayn Rand seems to be describing exactly the philosophy/ideology one might have if they were indeed a very intelligent sociopath.
Sociopath= someone who does not have the ability to have or feel empathy toward anyone but themselves.

I used to be a huge fan but idk now, I'm divided. On one side her ideas would be more fair. The whole "survival of the fittest" and individualism. The socialist wellfare system gives alot of people zero incitament to get up and work or even try to get a job.
Question is if her ideas would really work in a modern world and even less so in the future. In this "information and service era" robots and super effective industries makes human work/labour not needed. Now some will claim those jobs will be replaced with information or service jobs but I don't think so, not even near to fill the gap. A few would be super rich and many would be very poor. Her ideas worked better in her era. Not today and future. See the movie I-robot. That's what we are heading to(minus the whole robots taking over the world). Yes it's fiction and excaggerated probably but still the ideas of the future is true.

She doesn't seem like a happy woman there in the clip.
