They force you to do certain PT until your body breaks. Usually mountain climbers as they're hard on joints.
Only saw it happen to one kid that was an absolute belligerent dick. Just forced him to do them any free time we had until he developed shin splints so bad he couldn't walk, and then the dropped his ass to the medical platoon to rot until he healed. After he healed, he'd get rolled into another training company. If he was still a dick, his new company would probably do the same thing, so he'd have to spend ANOTHER several months healing before he could start back at where he left off in the training company.
I believe you could be stuck in the medical platoon for up to 6 months before they'd send you home. If you healed inside of 6 months, you get picked up by another training company.
Our drill instructors always told us - the quickest way out of boot camp is to graduate. Otherwise, you're life would be absolute hell.

what do you mean by "break"
I saw this in boot camp, break means mental breakdown, saw a guy who had jumped from second story barracks window and wasn't moving when I saw him, don't know if he survived. Saw another guy collapse in the chow hall crying and foaming at the mouth: they carted him away never to be seen and we heard of someone hanging themselves. This weeds out the fools who might snap when the shit hits the fan later on in battle.

Pretty much this. It's the boredom, all the bullshit waiting around and not doing anything, that will drive you mad. Boot camp was easy as pie, if albeit intimidating as hell at first. Seriously, dealing with the boredom was the absolute hardest part. That and not losing your bearing and trying not to laugh. Holy god the most hilarious things were seen.

Marine corp DIs were some of the wittiest fucks ive ever know... some of the shit that came out of theor mouths were beyond hilarious. That amd just the dumb shit recruits do when dealing with DIs... good times were had.

I'll consign on that. I spent the month of June out in Spain working along side with some Marines, and at times my jaw would hit the floor with some of the off the wall comments/responses the Sergeants would give their subordinates. I admired how they would, and could call a shithead what he is... a shithead, and corrected the matter on the spot. No stupid paperwork and providing a titty for titty sucking like the Air Force makes us do as NCOs.
