Title: affordable oly lifting shoes
Post by: animal1991 on December 28, 2012, 01:17:33 AM
Does anyone know of good quality affordable oly lifting shoes that doesn't look too bad either? Like between $100-$150.

And opinions on the Reebok Oly Shoes?

If you are worried about the "look" you are not ready - learn to lift without your ego

just take the oldest model of the adidas weightlifting shoes they are the cheapest you will find and the quality is excellent

as for looks they all look the same now, different colors here and there who cares about such matters

You want to be seen by other male lifters.

Adidas Ironwork if you can find them. I've had a pair for almost 6 years, they're just now starting to break down.

Adidas Adistar if you can go to $200.

Adidas Power Perfect *. These were the replacement for the Ironworks, don't confuse them for the Powerlift, the Powerlift was a lighter grade shoe.

Risto's are great, but can be hard to come by sometimes - http://www.ristosports.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1&zenid=688695bc1873c1601f05fbac7db73fb5 .

Cheap and bulletproof -

http://www.vsathletics.com/store/VS-Athletics-Weightlifting-Shoe.html . These sometimes are blown out by the company super cheap, and I've heard nothing but good things.

P.S. - The Reeboks are marketed as Crossfit shoes, I haven't seen any reviews from real weightlifters. The reviews I have seen by Crossfitters mention that the heels are softer than real O/L shoes, which is a problem. You have to be careful with a cross trainer masquerading as a O/L shoe if the weights are heavy.

depending on your location you will need to look for an appropriate supplier

but this should give you an idea

50 euros for excellent shoes, best you can get

new models are more expensive for no reason

And opinions on the Reebok Oly Shoes?

Not OLY shoes but chuck taylors are great for squatting and deadlift, (max deadlift = bare foot)

Also really good for farmers walk, tire flip etc.

Think I paid about 60$ for mine

Yep, there's also a WW2 section where one can discuss politics and, after front raises, get a re affirmative "comb over" from the local Jewish barber.

How about these?

Not looking for a oly lifting shoe per se, just one which heal is kinda hard and raised.

if i were you, guy, I would contact manfred n-e-r-l-i-n-g-e-r he's a very good guy and he can probably work something out with you to ship the shoes to S.A. (with DHL I presume for africa)

even tho DHL is quite expensive, them shoes are excellent and at only 50 euros for sale

just makes sure you are very accurate in your communication about foot size

see his contacts at www.n-e-r-l-i-n-g-e-r.com

i'm not affiliated with him, but i bought my shoes here and was happy about it

(remove - - -  from name and website, i had to do this since it was filtering it out of my post)

Well, they have the Italian flag, but ARE they also designed/made in Italy?
With Italian men it's the same as with dancing; they act & dress gay but they know how to attract pussy, quite a dilemma...
But seriously, those shoes look metrosexual & douchy to me. Forget the stylish thing, you're in the gym to lift weight. Just wear socks, but make sure they aren't white.

You mean those shoes (yes, maybe) or Italians? I think not really, other than their 'good lovers' reputation for a one night. They're criticized for being too macho.

Remember that I was talking about my ex' hubby? Well, he's Italian. She fell in love with him on a young age, but their marriage is bad, bad, bad. She only gives him credit for being a responsible hard working father.
