LOL!!!!
I can just picture Deltonte Jones in Compton trying to figure out how to use one of those things.

"you can have my RPG launcher when you pry it from my cold dead hands"
great quote.

Look at the cops face in that article. Ha ha ha!!!!!

sometimes, you see/hear/think things that instantly make you want to take a crap.
someone handing you a rocket launcher is one of those things!

At that moment - the cop is like - 'And I thought AK 47's were trouble . . . now this?" LOL!!!!!!
-
Forget a gun store, just head down there with $100 Vanilla Visa cards and buy all you can carry.
-
I wouldn't be so quick to take this story as it's being delivered.
-
You guys realize those are just empty AT4 tubes, right? They are worthless once it has been fired, so they probably turned in old practice tubes or props. Just empty, fiberglass tubes that cannot be reloaded.
More sensationalism.

Just stop. Please. Just stop. It's a slow news day so you have to give him whatever he can find to cry about.

So the govt got played for $$$$? LMFAO!!!

That's kind of funny.
But to broaden the topic a little bit, what's your take on allowing civilians to own functional rocket launchers (whether anti-tank or anti-aircraft)? I personally wouldn't be opposed to making them illegal to own, although to be fair, I hardly think that it's a big problem and there are a ton of other, more pressing issues to worry about.

I would be ok with it - provided there is some type of permit and training process.

I guess although I still don't see a point in owning such a weapon really.
Frankly, if I did, I would hesitate to keep it at home, for the sake of liability if for no other reason. Imagine if your house is robbed and someone steals your fancy rocket launchers and then proceeds to wreak havoc with them. I'll bet you that you'll be a named defendant in at least one civil case before the ink is dry on the police reports.

average burglar is looking for cash jewelry collectibles etc, not rocket launchers that are hard to fence on the street.

So the govt got played for $$$$? LMFAO!!!
The weapons they're buying back are probably left over from the banger who got killed and mom doesn't know wtf to do with the AK sitting in his closet. The spent AT-4 tube was probably brought in from a military collector who only wanted one but had another he got for free lol... Seriously, you could do more damage with 100 bucks and 10 minutes in home depot than you could with that spent AT-4

We wouldn't have minded one of those in highschool. :D
There was a KKK clubhouse within driving distance of where I went to highschool. Something like that could have come in handy for some of my school mates.
A bunch of them broke into a klan clubhouse and trashed the place. No one believed they had the balls to actually do it, so they went back in to do it again, document it, and grab a few souvenirs. Turns out those fvckers went and installed a silent alarm. :o

We almost fell over back in the Clinton years when we heard them debating as to whether or not they thought the Klan was a terrorist organization. Duh!

No. The resulting "news" story made the purchase valuable beyond belief.
