As I sit here and eat my (daily) yam mashed with canned salmon, honey mustard and pickle relish, I wonder what weird stuff you guys come up with.
I also like cottage cheese with peanut butter with a dash of splenda.
Carrots dipped in peanut butter
Apples with peanut butter and raisins
-
Sometimes when dieting time comes around I add mustard to everything:
Green beans
Egg Whites
Lean round steaks etc.
-
I'm not dieting, nor will i be for a while, as i'm still rather small. But, i've tapered off the bulking. I don't eat anything weird to a bodybuilder, but lay people consider me to have an oatmeal obsession.
Haha, "lay people". As it bodybuilding is nobility.
-
One of my favorite foods is instant mashed potatoes with canned salmon, cheese, & hot sauce (my girlfriend thinks it's absolutly disgusting).
-
sounds like you pretty much use peanut butter with everything and anything :D
-
My wierdest combo:
peanut butter and jelly ;D

That's cuz peanut butter goes with just about anything! :P

When I go to jersey to see my cousin, there's this place on the Rutgers campus called,"the grease trucks." They got the weirdest combinations of sub sandwiches. My favorite one has chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, french fries, and marinara sauce. But since I'm hearing the stuff above, now this sandwich doesn't seem any more ordinary than a hamburger. There's also one called a fat fuk. It has what I listed above, plus mayo, gyro strips, and ketchup. MMMMMMMmmmmmmm!!!! U gotta check them out now, cause it's the offseason. If u r near Jersey. Thank God I'm from NYC, and I only have access to them when I visit my cuz, cause if they had them here in the city, whoosh! I'd eat it everyday!

It would be even better with peanut butter! :P
-
Obviously NOT a diet food but a bowl of:
vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce, and green olives is delish!
haha, but you've had kids, right? if you've been pregnant before your perception is skewed :D
-

Hey, if u can eat 3 of those subs in one sitting in front of them, u get to name, and make your sandwich. It can have anything in it, even peanut butter! We'll call it, "The Fat Princess L" or whatever. I wish someone would challenge them. It's been quite a while since someone does it successfully.

Officer, have I ever steered you wrong on my delicious recipes? I would suggest you try this but it may be a bit over the top.................. ;D
And I'm just crazy enough to try it! Tell me, though, what is it exactly that the black olives bring to the table?
-
I use to mix a can of tuna with a 1/2 cup rice and a 1/2 cup of cottage cheese. I would eat it a couple times a day. :-X
-
No no Officer. It's green olives.....WITH pimento. It brings a combo of salty/sweety from extreme ends of the spectrum that once you've experienced this dish, just thinking about it will make you salivate like Pavlov's dog.
How 'bout that for a review?
It's certainly eloquent Stella, and I know eloquent :D.....I just dunno! cause it's not salty....nuts are salty, olives are oily and a bit bitter. I'm not adequately seduced to give that a shot just yet....
-
Nothing to far out
Rice Cakes, PB and All Bran sprinkled on top......
-
Oatmeal, natural peanutbutter, strawberries, and banana mixed mmmmmm. Then my 14 eggwhites with broccoli and lean turkey.
-
12 egg whites, 1cup of steamed broccoli and spinach, a little salsa...um um good!
-
peppercinis and green beans with cottage cheese on chicken breasts
-
Officer, are you understanding that I'm talking about GREEN OLIVES W/PIMENTO and NOT Black Olives? Green olives are salty as h*ll! Now, try the dang ice cream >:(
I'm awaiting your review (with GREEN OLIVES) :)
I am, I am!..............can i have a martini to go with it? ;)
-
OK so here's the review, since it's still 2 and a half hours too early to start drinking.
It's not bad, not bad at all. There's something though about the flavor of the green olives that makes me wish it was caramel syrup and not chocolate syrup. I do like it with the vanilla ice cream though, it's a very odd sweet/salty/bitter contrast. I toweled the olives off after i got them out of the jar, though, is that ok?
Anyways, you were right :-[ it was pretty good.

Oatmeal with warm water and cottage cheese, favourite breakfast!

WTF???
How in de HELL did you come up with that?
-
Now, officer, are you willing to try the hotdog/cream cheese combo? :D
Actually, that i WILL try. i don't much care for hotdogs, but i like cheese of most kinds.
-

I think it was time to go grocery shopping and that was all I had in the house :-\
It's actually pretty good. Give it a try.

A different twist on the 'ol pickles and ice cream thing huh :P

yeah it sounds like tuna helper.
-
Well sorry but this was way back in 1977. Did they have tuna helper. If not I invented it. How about Cherrios with water. We used to steal the little coffee creamers from the restaurants and mix them with the water for our Cheerios.
-
My favorite weird meal, not a diet food at all.....actually could probably cause a heart attack on the spot is, a BTO pizza. That is a bacon, tomato and onion pizza with no pizza sauce. Instead of sauce they use mayo. The pizza is wonderful in the off season.......
-
That's cuz peanut butter goes with just about anything! :P
try this princess: spread 1-2 tbl spoons p-butter on low carb whole wheat wraps, then microwave for 30-60 secs...yummy
>:(
-
lets see...
meal 1 half pound extra lean beef mixed with 2 cups whole wheat pasta and 1 tomato sliced and diced for flavor, add 1-2 tbl spoons olive oil and spices to taste

Hey Onlyme, do you mean playing minor league ball, and trying to eat on what little meal money you got. I remember reading a biography of Hank Aaron, telling how they went hungry sometimes, as due to lack of money. He said he felt like a king when about 4 players would pool their money and buy a loaf of bread, a couple of pounds of bologna or a jar of peanut butter and a jar of jelly. This was the only way they could afford to really get full. In Yogi Berra's biography, he said he almost quit the minors because he was so malnurished from not being able to afford food. one day he refused to play, so the owner of the team bought him some hot dogs from the concessions, since he was the best hitter on the team. When the team was at home games, Yogi wrote how on Sundays an old Italian lady would bring him large homemade sub sandwiches, with plenty of meat and cheese. That's the only way he could survive.
Back in 1977, I would assume that no one but the major leaguers got after game spreads of food provided to them. And their food money on the road was probably more per day then you got for a week.
Oh, and you said you love cornchips and peanut butter sandwiches. Corn chips are great with tuna salad. I used to put Fritos on my tuna subs from Subway, backwhen I used to eat there.

Fritos make your breath stink :P
-
Speaking of Fritos....they go great with chili.

I played winterball in St. petersburg with the Expos in 77. after taxes and such our check was about $80 a week. Me and my friend actually lived in a house with a women who always lets ball players live with her during the winter and spring. She rented out her rooms. She cooked sometimes for us but we had to buy the food,. We dined at Dennys sometimes except after we dined and dashed we got kicked out. I lived across from some softball field where a team called the Three/Quarter Century Club played. Everyone on the team was at least 75 years old.
-
We didn't have after game or practice spreads in the locker room. That was for the big boys. Back when Aaron played they probably got $15 to $20 per diem if that. In 1977 it $35. Nowadays they get something like $225 n the majors. But hey it was fun anyway. And girls were everwhere. In St Pete back then just about everyone was a retiree. But grandchildren and children came to visit. So there were many 17 to 19 year olds around. And the thing is they want to get with you before you make it to the majors so no one thinks they are with you for the money. I loved it
-
fritos on top of broccoli, french dressing, crumbled crisp proscuitto, raisins, and shredded white sharp cheddar....yeah baby
Okay, this sounded halfway reasonable (weird, but edible), until the raisins :-X
-
1) i like scrambled eggs/whites with homemade spaghettia sauce all over it (extra lean ground beef) and whole grain toast underneath for extra carbs.
2) egg whites mashed together with a yam and cottage cheese
3) tuna with egg whites and cottage cheese and oats mixed and scrambled and topped with same spaghetti sauce as #1
4) not weird, but love it. melt peanut butter, peel banana and roll in melted PB, then roll in whey protein and put in freexer for 10-20min then eat
5) pickles wrapped in lean turkey breast and cottage cheese
thats all i can think of, but i probably have weirder ones lol
-
*bump* for fun :D
-
tuna - oat meal - mayonnaise flavor curry = all miwed together, delicious.
