None of those are remotely similar to grunge. Except the one with the dead singer.

Nice job you old fuck, we're all aware there indie, my point is are they an echo of the grunge bands, which were in turn an echo of punk etc.

they sound more like "the Band" than they do mudhoney...if you think that music sounds anything like true grunge, from the screaming trees to AIC, you need to get your ears checked dude.

I guess I missed the part where you said "southern rock"
I could have sworn your post said "grunge revival"....call me crazy but Grunge was a seattle based sound, I'm pretty fucking sure of that....meat puppets were around before grunge.

And grunge music wasn't a style in the first fucking place, this shit has been discussed to death on this site.
Grunge was more or less a fashion style/ where it was cool to look like a dirty hobo.
The actual music was a repeat of shit that came before it.
The merit of the style was the reason for it's existance i.e. shit going way to over the top.

i get that....the flannel brigade was a manufactured thing that the bands despised. my point is "grunge music" is universally thought of as the bands that played and formed in the northwest in the late 80's/early 90's ....i'm well aware of the influences...but the music was what it was, and it was largely based in Seattle.....if you want to make up your own definition of what grunge is so you can be "right" have a party dude.
