'this is the radio clash,on pirate satellite,,,i have all there stuff loved sandanista sound cd reggae,punk,pop,still some anger there,,,did not like combat rock too much,,,,london calling is epic top 25 cd's/records ever made...

great band...remember the first album i got was Give em enough rope...combat rock i liked too...

i like his way of talking and really was a down to earth guy. If you look at interviews with Hugh Cornwell ex Stranglers front man .. you see they were not dumb guys...eccentric yes but brilliant. The new "punk" bands like green day are not bad guys but not the same..then again why should they be the same? they are their own mould.

yes i think some of their stuff is OK and it keeps it alive. This is progression and maybe the way it should be. They take some clash and mix a bit of their own ideas and keep it fluid and not stale...

the clash was a great band. there is a good documentary out on joe strummer. he got real pissed off when mick jones hit with Big Audio Dynamite. never recovered  :-\

london calling..yeah i was there too and you know what they said,,some of it was true...london calling at the top of the dial and after all this won't ya give me a smile,,,,knew every lyric of that album.....guns of brixton is one of my faves,,,

How I missed this thread? Must have been asleep. Great band. Topical, but timeless, too. How they get tied up with The Sex Pistols is beyond me. Not even in the same league.  

/early stuff totally craps on the older crappier stuff

London calling is epic .sandanista has some cool vibes and many genres of music experimented and formed there.

London Calling and Sandinista were masterpieces... Jay I agree on Combat Rock but I loved Straight to Hell. Who else could write a song called "Charlie don't Surf"

Yea I played the shit out of that song....a triple album.....the whole thing had a Vietnam feel to me and I loved it.
