when the top guys' sponsors pay them well enough, so they don't have to hustle for that 100K. funny, the sponsors are killing bbing. :-\

This. It's not a decline of the show, but a decline in the hobby and the professional competitors it has to choose from.

Other parts of the show outside of bodybuilding were still strong.

probably a combo of things. Arnold wanted the competitors to be paid higher...but, it was stipulated that one could not pay higher than the Mr. O. Arnold said that the competitors should be paid $1 millions if they win a show. Now, whether he would have implemented that for his show or not, remains to be seen.

The sponsors sponsor shitty competitors. They would cream their collective pants if they had a prime Sarcev, Richard Jones, or Flex or Levrone.
The Arnold started going downhill when Cutler was winning, then when Kai showed up too heavy, and then when Branch won two...I bet Arnold was angry when Branch won. How do you go from Flex winning in 93, 97,98, 2000, Ronnie winning in 2001, Vic winning and Dex winning to Branch The T-Rex.
