One of my friends said if you don't tap to a rear naked choke you can die. He said the vain can have some plaque and the choke will dislodge it and make it go to your brain and get stuck and kill you
Be careful when you train guys don't do the rear naked choke to hard and always make sure to tap so your partner can no when to stop it

Is there any question that throughout the history of man chokes have been used to kill? Cutting off the air or the blood long enough will result in death.

It is safe in sport though. Safer than a KO.

you die twice. Once from the choke, the other from death.

chokes and strangles are safe for olympic judo good enough for the olympics good enough for me you can kill some one with a glasses of water drink enough water and you will die

Strangle VS. Choke
Basically, there are two types of constriction techniques. Generally, a strangle is considered to block the flow of blood to the brain... while a choke will block the flow of air to the brain.
Strangle = Blood
Choke = Air

I think I know the difference between strangling and choking.
You don't choke the amount of chicken I have and not have some of it rub off on you.

Veins don't travel to the brain, they lead blood away from the brain. However, the carotid arteries are vulnerable:
