Vasaloppet is a early event in sweden. Endurance race.
around 15k starts. I think an older man died this year.
In school at winter from grade 1-12 you skii every week. At least from grade 1-9.
Fucking hated going down the big slopes and having the damn skis jumping out of the track and getting crisscrossed and fucking down you went lol.
they're going too fast since you can tell people are down. But you're supposed to have one ski in the track and break by putting the other one at an angle.
I think around 8 hours is a decent time for a "average" joe good fitness and skiis every winter.

I have heard that pro cross country skiers are the most cardio trained athletes of all, hard to see how they beat runners and cycling though but that's what I heard.

Ive heard the same. Probably becase you use both legs and arms and not just legs?
They are crazy fit either way. Sweden has produced many great skiers thats for sure. Gold medal the other day at VM. And a few more medals I think. Norway has also a bunch of awesome skiers. Always riverlary hehe.
They are always pushing themself right to the limit at the end.
