This is "outrage peddling".
Vets cost are always going up for a number of reasons.
If you can't afford to take care of your pet, don't get one.
I have 3 dogs. When my vets has to replace a piece of equipment and they end up having to pay 2.3% or whatever more, so the fuck what?
My special dog food went up about $30 a month recently. Had nothing to do about anything except inflation.

Is it a Beta otherwise know as a Siamese fighting fish? They are not Japanese. Koi are Chinese and Japanese, but they cannot survive in a fish bowl.
I doubt you can get pet insurance on either tropical fish, but you never know. ;D

There is a bar in Singapore where the upper wall meets the ceiling (where you would normally put crown molding), the owner has a round circle "pipe" about the size that a football would pass through. He has it partitioned off ever 12 inches so there are about 100 "containers" around the diameter of the ceiling. He has the bettas in there. Each one in their own container with a black partition separating each container. He said that originally it was glass partitions but they were ramming the glass over and over trying to fight their neighbors and dying fast. It's really amazing.
