Title: Got running shoes months back (great), now how about socks (serious)
Post by: a_ahmed on March 16, 2013, 08:22:10 AM
So getting performance running shoes was a life changing experience. Anyone who still does cardio/running/etc... without them... doesn't know what they're missing. Saves my knees and ankles/etc... feels like a cloud.

However... I get blisters from frickin walmart socks...

I have NO CLUE what running socks are like or what to look for, all this scrawny marathon talk on the internet mumbo jumbo confuses me. They don't talk English that I get.

In simple english: what are frickin good socks for running on treadmill especially when cutting an hour every day.

There are special running socks. They have a slightly different cut than ankle socks and keep their form. They don't collapse like normal socks. I don't wear them but i know people who do and love them. It is the only type of sock they will wear.

Drymax or Coolmax material socks should be good for indoor running. Asics Coolmax models are good and well priced.

In general, for that type of running, you want a moisture wicking sock with no thick seams. Most people prefer them on the thin side, but that is more of a personal choice. Stay away from cotton socks. You want a blend or synthetic type of material. No thick toe seams is also a good rule for any socks.

You can get them so they are seamless. I hear the seamless socks stop blistering.

I have the Nike 2-ply footie things. The look gay as hell (no homo), but they are amazing as socks. Just gotta make sure that nobody sees me.

Just tell them "no homo" and you're good to go.

The Flying Finn ran 10 000 m in 31.45,8 in fukin' "slippers".

when you can do that, come back and we can discuss about "running socks"

How much did he bench?

Not much judging by appearance  ;D

But point is I can't help but smile when I see these kids jogging on streets with 3000 € worth of gear hanging on them.
Same thing at the gym though.

If you have great running shoes, plain Hanes socks are the only thing you need.

Does he even work out?

He'll fit right in with the 'village' or 'church street' (that's the gay area in toronto)

I bought my first pair of these about 3 years ago, I now have 5 pairs including the original that are still like new. They are pricey at $10 and can only be found either on the net or running stores but Feetures are unbelievable. Incredible arch support. I also had plantar fasciitis and since wearing these it has gone away.
