Is it just me, or wouldn't he be better of accepting his fate rather than playing the optimist card ?

He has a very strong mind, and must do what he has got to do...You can have just about any physical disability and with the power of the mind, become more powerful then ever before...

I disagree, their are definite limits to the power of the mind, for some people they are just setting themselves up for future disappointment, best just to set goals and be realistic, not delude yourself into thinking anything is possible if you just will it into existence with the power of ones mind.

I don't want to sound overly cynical but I don't think that's the case here with Dim. I wish him the best as I wouldn't want a thing like this to happen even to my worse enemy. But this sounds like a marketing ploy. After his first aorta burst, he went back on the juice and competed again. He brought this upon himself like it or not the same way an alcoholic can't really blame bad luck when diagnosed with liver cancer or a smoker when his lungs give up. Now, what is exactly his future going to be? PT? So I guess trying his hand at motivational speaking might be his only option.

I think a speaking career is a possible option, but when people go through such a massive loss like he has, especially when his physicality was everything to him, their is a long stage of emotions one has to go through to get to a point of acceptance, and I don't think he is their yet.  During his video spiel you can see the angst in his facial expressions, his optimism speech didn't seem genuine, it is too soon to be spruiking the positive role model agenda.  In terms of the theory of change, he hasn't yet made the stage of maintenance that is vital to sell whatever theory you have to success.

By trying to skip the essential stages to recovery he is likely to relapse into a huge state of depression and despair.  Nobody loses the loss of their legs and is upbeat soon after, it's called PTSD, and I hate to say it, but if he doesn't deal with the reality that he is unlikely to walk again, he is going to emotionally crash hard. I HOPE I'M WRONG !!!

This. I will give him tons of respect of he's honest about things. I don't demonize or vilify AAS use but I had unprotected sex for years with no baby. Came off for almost a year, fertility meds for 6 months and now the wifey is 5 weeks pregnant. It's things like this that people don't talk about.

The renal and hepatic dangers occur, but are never discussed. Lesions, cysts, tumors, etc. The cardiovascular damage is real as well. Kris is the absolute worst case scenario, but when dudes throw 40lbs of water on during their post contest rebound someone should remind them of the dude who's aortic valve exploded in his chest. It's no coincidence, and even if he had a genetic predisposition he's not using light doses by any means. He's got more muscle at his peak than a thousand Cambodians. C'mon and be completely honest. No fear mongering, but drop some truth bong Kris. BTW, bong is what they call an older sibling in Cambodian. Seems like a good guy who's right on the verge of being able to spill some truth that this sport needs.

now that all steroids induced gains have disapeared, all he s left with is oil bags as arms and toothpick forearms. Sad. I d also like to know what i have to learn from someone who destroyed his health all by himself in a vain pursuit, you re not a hero when you re barely surviving your own stupid mistakes, just an attention whoring moron who should keep a very low profile.

shut your mouth retard with your power of mind crap , he s crippled for life, while he could be healthy, he did it all to himself. There is no way you can find anything positive to the whole situation, it's just plain dumb.

Does the oil stay for that long, or does this genius keep injecting oil in his arms even at this point? I know he still did that after the heart-attack, but, c'mon, at this point. I can't feel bad for someone like him.  :-\

He's pretty sad for juicing hardcore after the first scare, but he's not pinning his arms still. I'm sure he looks at his forearms, then looks up at his shameful upper arms and feels stupid every time. The bolus of oil sits in there and festers, causing scar tissue to build up, lots of inflammation and cysts. There are oil pockets encased by granulomatous tissue... crunchy on the outside, greasy on the inside. These guys are lucky they don't get sepsis.

I'm not opposed to light use of site enhancing oils that dissipate at a faster rate, like maybe a sort of synthol product cut with MCT or another oil, but the current lineup of SEOs are just too nasty. PMMA can look okay, but this is bodybuilding we're talking about so people go to extremes and eventually stop once there's way too much irreversible damage done.

are we suposed to think it was worth it for him to destroy his body with drugs when looking at the stupid plastic trophies he put in the background on purpose? I'm confused about the message he strying to send; is he trying to say he s actually proud of what he s done to himself?

Dudes a narcissist. Aside from the fact that he's talking up the sport that obviously did him in. You have to consider the mindset of a person that gets heavily involved in the sport in the first place. Dude was crazy as shit from the start for being a body builder and given his background is even more fucked up than normal, not less.

What made him crazy? Not questioning you, I genuinely don't know any dirt on him. I remember him coming up when I first started lifting and thought it was cool he was Asian.

You left out a bunch of names like Benazziza, Munzer, Curtis Leffler, Jeep Swenson, Paul De Mayo....etc, etc. Not to mention amatuers like Brad Hollibaugh, Scott Milne and Derek Anthony, etc.

The bottom line is that high level bodybuilding has far more tragedies per quota of competitors than any other "sport"....including MMA, boxing and even NASCAR....?

Well, his heart did explode. It's not going to be like stitching up a scraped knee.

Glad that he's reaching out and talking about it, but it won't be anything unless he provides brutally honest disclosure. He has to illustrate exactly what he was doing, as well as what he did after his first operation. Only then will he garner my full respect. All the little douches are praying "get well, Kris" but the dude abused the ever-living fuck out of PEDs until his heart exploded and kept the pedal to the metal shortly after getting stitched up. He's far from a saint.
