Had an MRI done. The doc says I have a complex tear, requiring surgery. He says I'll be good as new after. No alternatives to getting better other than surgery? I can't squat down because of the pain and I've stopped running. Walking is okay though, though I feel a little discomfort. Have any of you had a complex meniscus tear?

I have a friend who just had surgery in January. He was good to go after about 7 weeks.

Thanks! Had it done last week. Limping, but improving. 7 weeks sounds fast

My doc got me started on quad strengthening exercises 6 days ago. I've found that even if you go easy on simple level 1 exercises, the knee hurts after. Is that normal?
