I wish Canada had food stamps. Bet some junk bag would sell all his for like $50
-
got'em for 6wks when I got out of prison.
bought $14 jugs of BodyFortress Whey protein at walmart, 3lb tubes of ground beef, hamburger helper, generic oatmeal, chicken nuggets, bbq sauce, milk, and dollar store egg's. $200/month gets a lot of food if you gotta cook it yourself.

Is it even possible to eat on that small amount?
-
Can you really buy protein powder on food stamps?

$ 200 worth of food lasts only about 2 weeks or so if your eating 5/6 meals a day. I was on and off food stamps for 2 years.

5-6 meals a day is stupid. what's a 'meal' considered?
2lbs ground beef = $6 of the fattty shit... plus 2.50 for a box of hamburger helper... even cheaper if you just use jasmin rice & soy sauce from the asian market $17/25lbs.
that's 8.50/day for roughly 200g protein and a few thousand kcals.
8.50 * 30 = $255... that's if you eat that shit every day... some days i just had a couple boxes of mac & cheese, milk, oatmeal and chicken for 1/2 that cost.

200 does NOT seem like a lot to eat on.

I'm pretty meticulous with my budget every month since I'm in grad school and money is always tight. I can eat 6 clean whole meals a day for $60 a week. What kills my budget is cheat meals though, burgers and pizza... I'm a sucker.

agreed, but look at it another way, that is $200/month that you got for free.
there are a lot of Hasidic Jews in NYC that receive public assistance.
basically the husband has a job that makes enough to qualify. When in reality his father or relative owns the company, he gets paid off books or in Israel

Jews in Israel beg for money for food too. There are many commercials about it.
