DUMB QUESTION I KNOW, HOWEVER WHENEVER I DO MORE THAN 45 MINS ON THE TREADMILL FOR CARDIO, A FAINT SMELL OF AMMONIA EMIT, I AM CURRENTLY TAKING A FAT BURNER, SLENDERIZE (FOR MEN AND WOMEN) AND I DRINK PLENTY OF WATER. PLEASE HELP

Fat is used as energy. Just as carbs and proteins.
You don't sweat any fat.
Sweat consists of around 99% water, then there are salt, and something called urea, and then lactic acid.

I have that ammonia smell to sometimes. I always blame it on the detergent.
-
THEN DO YOU THINK IT WAS THE UREA OR LACTIC ACID.?

The urea. It's the same stuff that makes piss smell like amonia after a while.

I don't know how to tell whether it's coming from dietary or muscle protein. But it is the breakdown of protein. I'd say that, in general, if the body has plenty of dietary protein, there shoudn't be a need to use muscle protein for fuel. Thats' basically the reason that we increase protein intake on a diet in the first place.

The individual atoms of urea come from carbon dioxide, water, aspartate and ammonia. That would explain the ammonia smell.

the way that i understand it from my doctor, when i was on an acne drug. was that the smell of sweat has to due with the break down of toxic things in your body. i believe now, bc ppl that use crystal myth have a smell to them due to the drug getting into their porse...
fat on the other hand is used as a fuel for the body. fat is just stored carbs that hasnt been used. so when ur on a bike on an empty stomach. your body has to use them first to keep going

If you are dieting, then it's likely ketones. Google ketones and ammonia smell and you'll see a lot of stuff about an ammonia smell. Very common.
-
sweat does not smell as it is basically salt water as hedgehog pointed out. however when it reacts with the dirt and filth on your skin thats when the smell is produced.
Thats y sometimes ppl can sweat and not smell because they are clean, and others can sweat and stink cos they are dirty
-
Yeah but I can get right out of the shower, and if I start to sweat a lot with no deoderant on, I'll stink like hell.

YES :-\

Goudy, I don't think they're refering to perspiration mixing with bacteria on the skin. That's where the BO smell comes in.
Alot of the toxins in our body are stored in fat, so when we break them down, they get released into our system. That's why people frequently break out like crazy when they diet. It's all the crap leaving that's been stored in the fat, flooding the system. Some toxins are released through the skin, and that could account for the smell. The largest organ of elimination in the body is the skin.
