I had a bulova and got a lot of compliments on it. It kept its shine really well. I broke it when I ran it through the wash so I'm looking for a new watch too.

If you can push your budget up a little and want to actually get a luxury Swiss watch you can go for a Longines, this one is offered for a great price if you ask me!  I have a Longines, but different style, beautiful watches!

If you want class, stay away from the stainless steel bands that ACH is telling you to get.  You'll look like some sleazy Iranian or Armenian.

Get a nice leather strap. Looks more classy.

Believe it or not - I actually agree with that.  I prefer leather or rubber straps, but he never specified what type of band he wants so I went with stainless steel

Tags are nice but if you want a counterfeit $5000 dollar watch that China made that could fool everyone for $800 bucks the internet is saturated with them. China counterfeits watches in different grades. When ever you see a chump that doesn't have any real money living at home with a $5000 plus watch you know it's Chinese made.

Buy a used Omega Seamaster (the blue bezel & blue face or Black bezel with black face)

This is a $4000 watch that you can pick up BOXED and with CERTIFICATES on ebay for around $600 and only 5-10 years old.

Beautiful watches that NEVER go out of style and look far less cheesy than a rolex.

I have a dress watch but I use a common Casio most of the time. I swim in the ocean with it. I have dropped it on concrete and even threw it to a friend who didn't catch it. It works perfect. I used Casio's to wake me up for work for over 20 years. I time my runs and weight workouts with it. I use the count down alarm for 3 minute rounds when hitting the heavy bag. At night it has a light to see it.

I like to get a used quality watch on Ebay but it just can't be trusted with all the Chinese counterfeits. The Chinese is really flooding the market with them. Depending on the grade of counterfeit they have authentic boxes and paper work. Only a jeweler could tell but I would never want to own a fake.

Just buy a g-shock, people notice them far more than expensive dress watches that all look the same, and lets face it you wear the watch because you want people to notice.

Wisdom here. All the dress watches look the same. You can drop a pretty penny on a Movado, but then you have Fossil and Armitron making watches that look almost exactly alike.

And unless you're going to a watch critics convention -- nobody is going to pay any attention.

The upside to the G-Shock is that it works anywhere (formal, the garage, the gym), you never have to take it off, and it does draw a lot of attention.

Watches will not run a very long time on me, they always go dead even with a battery replacement. My dad gave me some as a kid they lasted only a month or so. I have read up on them that were certain people have an electric charge in their body or something to the effect that burns them out. I gave up on them.

I submit that there is a difference between a gentleman who regularly sits on a board of directors meeting and a young Getbigger who simply wants an attention getting watch. If the OP sits on the Apple B.O.D. and can afford a Ulysees Nardin, then more power to him.

Omega Semaster's are not $4,000 new... the automatic models may reach $3,000 but you can always find good deals on them,  remember there is also a quartz version of this watch which is a few hundred dollars cheaper than the Automatic.

But yes... BEAUTIFUL watch!

True, I have to buy mid-size option with the Omega models because the regular mens stands out too much. My wrists aren't particularly narrow either, so must be where they are heading generally with oversized dials

Anyone notice how watches are getting really big lately? I have a small wrist and some of these watches look ridiculous on my wrist.

it's the style blacks like to wear.  ::)bling bling

The more valuable looking the better. I got the clothes down, just need the watch. Got many fitted hats, bright white kicks, lots of jordan kicks, jerseys, jeans, timberlands. the whole 9 yards. just need the watch.

bulova?

my wrist is 7"

I cant stand oversized watches.   I have an 8 year old Movado watch, that I still get compliments on.   Go with Movado.  They're stunning watches. Classy.

Yeah thats what I still don't understand, all those ghetto-ass clothes and then looking for a $500 watch?

$500 is pushing it with that wardrobe.

with clothes like that, he's better off with a $10 BLING BLING watch from walmart.

OP's gotta lose the sneakers and timberlands and head to Zappos drop a couple hundo on a couple pair of Rockports.

... and lose the fucking "fitted caps".

what kind of impression are you making wearing that shit? u still wearing jerseys??? holy fuck. what has MTV/BET done to ppl.

get some proper pants also... and shirts... with buttons.... that FIT.

even if you're in a t-shirt and jeans (that fucking FIT, btw), a proper watch is all you need. (besides shoes).... i'm a Panerai man, myself. if I want something bolder/bigger, I go with a Uboat Flightdeck (50mm) although i'd never wear them outside the gym or running errends on the weekends.... I believe the panerai (Luminor Marina) is 46mm... maybe 44mm, plenty big and bold, without being stupid.

drop the cash on a proper swiss automatic, even if you gotta make $50 payments. Rolex and Movado are cliché. go with panerai. it's not like buying a car for $3k and turn around and sell it for $1200... a $3k swiss watch resell for $3k next year or 5yrs from now.

<Pickup Line>

Big Dog:  Hey, babe, I've got a special watch - it'll tell me what color your panties are.

Babe:  Oh, really?

Big Dog:  Yes, according to my watch, you’re not wearing any.

Babe:  Not true, they're pink.

Big Dog:  Oh, then it must be running fast.

EDIT:  Oh dude - you're actually right on this.  Prices have gone up on the new models!  Few years back, they were not that drastic - but not far off!

Omega Semaster's are not $4,000 new... the automatic models may reach $3,000 but you can always find good deals on them,  remember there is also a quartz version of this watch which is a few hundred dollars cheaper than the Automatic.

But yes... BEAUTIFUL watch!

James Bond eat your heart out!

My wife and I own a matching pair:

wait... joke's on me. I should've known when he asked for a watch that looks "ill". this clown will be wearing a knockoff 65mm Invicta encrusted with cz's.

the omega seamaster completely escaped me. i'd go with that or a panerai.

win the lotto, or manage a hedge fund? Patek Phillipe Grand Complication (black face, please )
