I remember a few kids in like elementary and middle school that drank wine with their parents sometimes with dinner.
Do people do that a lot?
???
-
Its the norm in Italy. But they water the children's alcohol down.
-
today they medicate half the kids with a ton of drugs and let them watch spongebob all night.
back then, the kid had half a glass of merlot and went to sleep watching the evening news haha...

Good point! ;D
I didn't get any alcohol or drugs.... >:(

I was allowed sips of whatever alcohol they had....beer, wine, Sambuca, Rye, etc.
-
I was sipping beer at 3, drinking wine at 10. Consequently alcohol never had the 'forbidden fruit' aura for me, so I rarely abused it.
And in a fully expected plot twist: my parents were extremely anti drug -- so I did abuse the shit out of those.

I only got fizzy drinks on my birthday and Christmas so that was the only treat I was really after. Fizzy drink is the Aussie term for soda.

My mom was a binge drinker. My stepdad was a teetotaler. There was no wine in our house unless my parents were having a party. Since my mom's preferred binge drink was Vodka, wine for quests wasn't an issue.
My parents did offer me a cigarette every so often when I was a teenager. I thought cigarettes were gross, so I passed.
My wife and I allowed out kids when they were teens to drink wine if they chose. If I remember correctly, they weren't interested.

Yes, I was allowed a glass of wine or champagne when I was close to and in my early teens, and I had a sip or so of other liquors when the adults had them. I still remember tasting some Jack Daniels when I was 9 or 10, and was in disbelieve that anyone would drink that stuff for pleasure, my dad got a good laugh out of that.

Yes, very common in my Argentinian culture.

Maybe some decades ago. Today is all about pepsi.
-
I was born in France so by age 6, if my parents denied me a glass of wine for dinner I was allowed to call the cops.

Thats gross. Watered down wine would be healthier than Pepsi.
-

Wine was a staple at Sunday dinner.
You were given very little starting around age 5 or so. And by "little", I mean a sip.
Hell, you can have wine at 8 years old at Communion.
