I have been off Pre-mix Pre-workout supplements for a while now and been drinking coffee as a replacement.
I drink coffee before workouts only.
Its not as strong for sure, but I dont have to take 4 weeks off like I use to with Pre-workout supplements (my favorite was N.O Explode). I hated that runned down feeling with Pre-workout supplements and and fact that I always have to switch brands because I get use to whatever. So for example I take N.O Explode for 8 weeks then I switch to something else like NANO Vapor or something like that.
I usually drink coffee for 8 weeks then 1 week off. For me that 1 week off is enough because once I get back to drinking coffee. The energy feels great.
Also its way cheaper!!
What do you guys think?
You think Gains are better with Pre-workouts? I mean, yes I do feel like an animal while on it..but that feeling after awhile kills it for me. ???

If you like coffee the best then use coffee. It's that simple ;)

Stimulants are stimulants. Give your adrenals a break every few months (supplement with some Tyrosine if you need something doing this time) then hop back on your stimulant of choice.

I used No-Xplode for a while like 5 months or so, Thing is they recomend you to stop using it after a long period ...
Maybe it was all mental, but walking in to da gym wasnt just the same without it, no rush,motivation,pump focus anything...

I don't really take any pre-work out supplements nowadays, mainly just drink some BCAA's during my work out and have a 20 oz bottle of coke zero a few hours before with my meals
I do have a tub of NO Xplode at home that I save for days where I'm UBER UBER tired and really struggling to go to the gym, but honestly never really feel the need to use it, its very rare when I do. I used to love drinking the RTD NaNo Vapor before and during my work out that shit felt fucking potent.
But for the most part, I get good sleep at night, pretty consistent with my diet, and even without the pre-work out drinks I don't feel any lack of energy while I'm in the gym. I still get awesome pumps etc. So I don't find pre work out supplements to be essential or anything. Sure they could help - some people swear by them, and if you feel an improvement, by all means use them, some say it improves flushing nutrients to your muscles, etc.
Do I feel a difference whenever I use them? Not in particular, sometimes I do, sometimes I don't.... like I said I almost always have lots of energy while I'm at the gym and getting very good pumps, with sore muscles the next day, regardless of what I'm taking.

If you know the ingredients, like you should, then it should be pretty obvious halving the amount of caffeine is going to give you less of a kick, not to mention not needing to taper off as much. If you drink two or three cups of coffee you will feel almost the same as you did with a pre-workout, minus the creatine.

not a regular pre workout user, but I bought a tub of gaspari's superpump max recently and it sucks dick. Slight pumps, not a shred of additional energy.

The original Ultimate Orange was the best.
Now, just black coffee and ephedrine when needed. I do agree with the tyrosine recommendation also.
