That's one of the latest lines of Technogym, pretty decent stuff, but you can't compare it with a brand like Hammerstrength.
TG is one of the most popular brands in Europe.

Hammerstrength i like.. never seen these machines here. Still.. there are so many companies around. last Gym i worked in had Hammerstrength really solid and a great feel...

Arnold has been doing a machine circuit for over twenty years.

The sad thing is that my gym owner doesn't even lift (he's more into martial arts). As a result, one of his gyms is loaded with crap (Sportsart & Hoist). Fortunately, his other location has a 20 year old TG line and better benches as well. Too bad this location is a bit more far away.
HS is the shit. I will prob visit a place soon, where they have a full line, can't wait! So far, I had only the chance to try their chest press.

Hammer Strength are great machines all plate loaded no weak ass cables involved. I got them second to Nautilus, Arthur Jones approved.
-
The machines Arthur Jones made were great. His MedX and earlier Nautilus were really good machines. His son Gary Jones made some good plate loading machines with Hammer Strength.

Exactly. The pullover machine was one of Arthur's best.

Yeah, their plate loaded line isn't bad, though you can't compare it with HS. I've trained on all machines above, except the second one.
I remember the first time that I tried that rowing machine (last pic). My balls got almost crushed because of the poor padding :-X ;D

I have Technogym in my latest gym. They feel good with the circular motion they have, but sometimes they feel imbalanced, like they're skewed making one arm work harder. wonder if they're broken or if I'm imbalanced. Leg kick feels strange for the kness. Shoulder press, lat pulldown and seated row are pretty good.

Most of the times, the weight stack is on your right side. I understand the user-friendliness of this, but I recognize that imbalanced feeling with a serious load, esp when a machine becomes old. There's a good reason why plate loaded machines are popular, not only by their owners.

yes but you're wasting so much time and power searching the right plates and loading em on the machine set for set. It's easier putting the stick into the weight stack 8)

My gym has a ton of Ivanko plates. The only problem is that 20 & 25 kg plates look almost identical (both are black). However, I prefer the robust feeling of a PL-machine over this inconvenience.

Arnold's hair dye job is always horrible.
Yeah, that gym looks too upscale and not very motivating.

That's the hotel gym from the "Stanglwirt", a high-class hotel/spa resort in Tyrol/Austria, the district I'm coming from. The Klitschko brothers are there every summer for several weeks and a lotta other celebrities. Roman Abramovich and Demi Moore are there every year as well.

Sounds even more gay than a 'health spa'

But make sure you wear nut protectors on the last machine, thank me later
-
legend.. 8) he looked pretty good in 'the last stand'. didn't like that film much, tbh, but did think that arnold was vcery good in his role..
-
I wish my gym played that kind of inspirational music the whole time

None of my gyms have plate loaded unfortunately. Doesn't seem to be a hit in Stockholm. Most gyms here have LifeFitness in my experience.
-
Arnold is only 65, born in 1947

Is he on gear?

Gym is upscale and ambient. Looks pleasant, and very snobby ;D

Good post. Didn't know you were from there
But what excercise are they doing here? ;D (From the website)

My gym has the first two back machines he uses, the pulldown machine is very good...great feel, his the lats at a good angle.
The other one is ok not great. They have a bicep machine that is brutal...two sets and your biceps are on fire. They have a very good leg press as well. Overall they are quality machines IMO....They have a knack for really hitting the Target muscle

For my understanding, do you have a gym chain or are you a client?
HS is pretty expensive here in Europe, AFAIK because of the high import rates for steel.
Maybe PL stuff isn't popular in Sweden because they don't like bodybuilders in general? (I refer to the Tony Freeman & Martin Kjellstrom arrests)
Lifefitness is from the same company as HS. I love their cardio & pulley machines.

No, I just frequent three gyms right now.
Most gyms have very mixed clientel here. I bet they are intending all machines to be the easy choice that clients recognize and feel comfortable with. They want to give alternative to handling free weights. An old lady can't load the plate loaded machine.
Also normal machines are probably cheaper, easier to clean and to instruct newcomers with.
-
the gym in the video is one at the location arnold was staying.

Looks like a weight room inside an Olive Garden Restaurant... lol (http://www.dealwisemommy.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/Olive-Garden.jpg)

Joints hurt just watching him train...His elbow positioning during all exercises looked a lot like some of the people in my gym who never worked out in their life.

And that was training with the machine "empty" imagine putting some weight on it.

It felt good in my chest during my workout, but there was zero pain the next day.

he looks tiny and isn't going to do shit on those machines with 40lbs on the stack.
