Give GifCam a try -- far and above the simplest gif-creating software available. It comes in the form of a single executable file, no installation required.

That's simple?   can't even figure out the first step.  damn thing keeps moving around on me :'(

I tried a few gifs and getbig rejects them due to the file size.  fucking annoying.

It does that to almost all of them for me. Upload them to tinypic and then link to them.
