guys like Jimmy Smith and a ton of jazz organist were doing that in the 40's and 50's long before Ray Manzarek even put  diapers away

But I said a TRUE GOD OF ROCK!!!!!!!!!!

We must respect this man...I'm so sad right now. The Doors have meant so much to me...greatest band ever.

Doesn't matter, unique for a rock band... Not saying he invented it.

Very true.

Nothing sounds like the Doors or ever will, no other band can say that.

They were a group that shouldn't have worked, but it did and their music became timeless...

Sad news. Golden age rockers do seem to be passing away with regularity these days, don't they? Was always a bit torn with Ray wanting to tour with the name 'The Doors.'
