Why do bodybuilders shake their muscles then tense them up over and over? I do it a little bit, just because I like to and I've seen others do it. Is there a reason though? Like shaking your quads or biceps side to side, then flexing?
???

As they shake their quads, they are hoping other things will shake, in order to lure the schmoes in.

I can't think of one reason.

If there's one thing I've learned from bodybuilding shows, it's that the crowd loves to get shot up with imaginary bullets from imaginary machine guns fired by a big muscle stud.
