Thanks for the thoughts everyone. Yes, today is the Zimbabwean Presidential elections. Everyone back home is hoping Mugabe and his corrupt governement will be out .... after 33 years of hell ....but there is no telling yet. Everyone I know (black and white) are voting Mugabe out. But he will probably rig elections..... he always does.

And Kwon... thanks for compliment. But haven't dyed hair yet... still natural with a few greys. But my beard is totally grey now. Oh well.

It's actually VERY hard. The government ... currently a one party state under Mugabe and ZANU-PF (name of his party) strictly forbids anyone from leaving the country with money.

So... how exactly does one immigrate? Because being caught with smuggled money$ leads to serious jail time in the worst prisons on the planet. :(

do you still have family over there, is it hard to keep in touch with them? Are they trying to leave the country?

They moved to Nelspruit (South Africa) .... and lost their farm in Zimbabwe to Mugabe ....and bought a new tiny farm. They are much happier.

Why bother continuing to stay in Africa? Why live in a place you're not wanted. Australia or New Zealand seems like a better options.
