Michele Bachmann not running for re-election to House
May 29, 2013
WASHINGTON Minnesota congresswoman Michele Bachmann says she will not run for another term in the U.S. House.
The tea party favorite, who ran for the Republican presidential nomination last year, announced her decision on her website Wednesday morning.
Bachmann says her decision not to run again in 2014 was "not influenced by any concerns about ... being re-elected."
She also says recent inquiries into her 2012 presidential campaign did not affect her decision.
Bachmann promises to "continue to work overtime for the next 18 months in Congress defending ... Constitutional Conservative values."

She's Palin + 50 IQ points. She'll be a fine lobbyist and/or speaker and/or FOX host.
better to retire in 2013 than to lose in 2014.
-
God told her not too.

Maybe Hank johnson, Ellison, Sheila Jackson Lee, Ratlosi, Cummings, et al can change parties?
-
Good she needs to go away..her being associated with the tea party made them look bad.
-
the tea party schtick is probably past its prime. There were no million patriot marches in 2012 like we saw in 2010. Remember?
in a world where Bachmann barely won... and was looking to be defeated next time... where the party chose Romney over everyone else...
Tea party is probably going to be nothing more than a distraction during primaries. Their candidates will still win the SUPER conservative areas, but if bachmann can't win.. yikes...

A trial date has been set in an Iowa lawsuit alleging that Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., stole and misused an e-mail distribution list maintained by an Iowa home school group during her failed 2012 presidential campaign.
This morning, the seven-day trial in Heki v. Bachmann was scheduled for May 14, 2014, court records show.
Also this morning, Bachmann, a Minnesota congresswoman, announced she will not seek re-election in 2014. She said in a videotaped message that “this decision was not impacted in any way by the recent inquiries into the activities of my former presidential campaign or my former presidential staff.” She has maintained she did nothing wrong.
A 12-page Polk County lawsuit filed last July alleges that two Iowans, Barbara and Richard Heki, suffered “severe emotional distress and loss of current and future business opportunities” after two unapproved emails were sent from the Bachmann for President campaign to members of the Network of Iowa Christian Home Educators (NICHE).
