Blue belts are bad ass's for sure. But how would anyone argue if he put the time in or not? The kid is loaded and looks to me would have a ton more time than my broke ass to do it, and I find (make) time? I am sure OMR can say the same.

A Blue Belt is nothing. lets talk 3rd Dan OK..
A blue belt in bjj under a respected bjj practitioner takes a few years, going a few days a week consistently. I doubt bieber finds the time to go 2-3 times a week while touring and media BS.

I am a 2nd Dan Grade in Aikido and Wado Ryu Karate 3rd Dan. Like some here also ving tsun )wing chun) also Brown Belt Judo. Maybe he has a personal Trainer but i do not think he can hold his own in a fight in a dojo like where Arce or onetimehard Train...or where i Train.

The belt system use to be really hard BJJ when there was only three schools in the US. One in NY, NJ and California. That was it. The school I went to only had two belts. Craig Kukuk and Renzo Gracie at the time wouldn't give out any others besides white and blue. Some called the belt purple. Some of the white belts going for 6 months at the time could have seriously kicked ass since almost all martial artists realized you needed a ground game. A matter of fact the school was filled with black belts from other arts because they saw UFC one and two. They were tapping quick like every other beginner.
Justin's belt could have been given to him by a grateful instructor who was paid a lot of money or he actually has traveling mat partners on the road.

Eddie Bravo is known to take a little longer than most instructors in awarding belts, so I am a little skeptical.
That said, the kid might have paid for private lessons directly from Eddie Bravo, which could have lead to his getting blue belt a little faster (after just a year).
Remember, Eddie Bravo has a no-gi school and has his own system of JiuJitsu. Some people think that due to the lack of gi, students are able to obtain belts faster, but from what I understand, he doesn't give them out without properly earning them.
I spent 3 weeks rolling with Eddie at the headquarters in Pico Boulevard and he is a stand-up guy with a fantastic attitude and a heart of gold. His students were all very welcoming and open to learning techniques from Renzo's academy, just as I was very happy to learn their rubber guard.

Well, that's the part that I find a little difficult to believe. Eddie seemed like a very straight-up guy that wouldn't sell out. I mean, look at it this way, Joe Rogan is one of Eddie Bravo's best friends. Joe Rogan was a Brown Belt under Eddie Bravo for over 8 years. That's a long time and typically after 4-5 years of being a Brown belt or progression by way of competition in ADCC, Mundials, Pan-ams etc. you can go up in rank. The mere fact that he made one of his best friends hang around for over 8 years at Brown, because he felt Joe needed the extra time on the mats to prove his skillset, makes me weary of the potential for him to sell out to Justin Bieber.
That said, I don't know Eddie on a personal level the way Joe Rogan or his students do. Maybe Steve Arce knows him a little better, as he has rolled in their school a good number of times.
It would be sad if he gave into the star power and money, but you never know, I just doubt it.

If he did get a Blue Belt, it was most likely under private lessons with a select group of sparring partners. I can't see Bieber rolling with the general population.
