A woman from the past I just caught up to has a hyphenated name. She says she goes by, either her maiden name, or husband's last name, or the hyphenated name. She has been married before and it was hell getting it changed back during the divorce.
I noticed this trend with a lot of women. Also, I know several professional women who have married and kept their last name. Coincidently, all these men are not the bread winners, and have that Fred Flintstone/Barney Rubble look to them.
Have you noticed this, and is this a fad?

With more women being in the profession field, and having a "known" name in their business before marriage, they tend to hold onto that name for recognition. That said, if my wife tried that shit, we'd have some serious shit to talk about. And the betas that let it happen, sheesh... ::)

I have never heard of a man doing that. Not saying you're lying, just saying I have never heard of it.

That would never happen to a woman I'm married to. Ultimate disrespect.

Then she needs to go to the curb.

Before my best friend got married his wife to be put pressure on him to hyphenate her last name on to his. She originally wanted him to take her last name. He ended up not doing either.

In competitors, it is done for name recognition, which makes it a lot easier in the figure, bikini, fitness and physique competitions. At least on paper. In business, especially if you are in sales, it helps knowing that the personal you dealt with did not change.

its one of the biggest problems I have with the musclememory database, trying to link contest results under one name with results by the same person using a different name.

add a field called alias or other names or a table for associated names. Most CMSs supports this functionality.
