Title: Q for tommy wishbone/cswol
Post by: Slik on June 18, 2013, 09:05:26 AM
Hey. Losing my memory! Spent 5 years at golds Venice back in the second half of the eighties early nineties. Wut was in that third room back then. I remember there used to a lat low row n possibly a jungle gym.  I remember a treadmill where the jungle gym is in the second room and the nautilus double shoulder was there too. There was also a jungle gym in the second room. I remember doing push downs next to benazziza days before he flew to that show and died.  I think i remember mattarazo n his girl was it sue? The big blonde in the third room. But fir the life of me I don't remember outdoor access from the third room. Like an outdoor gym. I remember the flat benches n incline were up front by the desk. That was getting into maybe 92 93 though. I know for sure there wasn't as much cardio shit as today or maybe cuz I never did it. I would use that oddly placed tread in the second room often though to walk slowly for 15. Didnt want to lose bulk haha!  I remember the posing room under the steps.  There was a room in the back third part that had a ballet bar in it that I'd stretch on sometimes. U got any old pix of the gym itself? I keep trying to remember all the stuff back then. I remember Katsumi at the power racks. Guy never missed a workout.

I was there for a while in the '97 timeframe. Is it the room in the back where they did a lot of the photos?

There r three rooms at golds Venice. All fairly similar in size. Front room biggest. Middle room smallest. Back room has garage doors that open up to an outside workout area. I don't remember it having that part back in the eighties.

Were there a lot of empty brown paper grocery bags in the locker rooms?

The third room had the Yellow Flex equipment, the original Hammer machines and the Blue Icarian benches amongst other stuff.

I think the cardio was in a fourth room but that wall was torn down and both cardio and Hammer plus some benches and dumb bells are all in one room now.
