Bikini, that is only an hour and half away from me and I actually know people in that town. Want me to email them to check it out? Decatur is a pretty small town. It says the only thing wrong with it is it overheats. Well that can be as simple as a $5 thermostat or as much as a cracked intake or head.

Sure! And I'm going to send the guy an email myself!

Let me ask you this though.....I'm not much of a mechanic....what is a cracked intake or head? What would the repair costs be?

Even though it's about a 24 hour drive for me I would still do it. Or else I would fly up and drive it back. I've been looking for a cargo van but that bus will do as well. It's so snazzy and I love the Simpsons!

On my schedule I can easy get the days off as I work 14 on and 14 off.

It would probably take a new engine if it is that bad. Thing is driving it 24 hours when it is overheating is a real gamble. I emailed a service technician for our company that takes care of that area. Hopefully he will be able to go by there in the next day or so and check it out. I will keep you posted.

I just got an email from him and he is going to go by there tomorrow to check it all out. He will call me afterwards and I will then let you know.

I've emailed the owner...I have yet to hear from him. I'm going to have to look into copyright laws as well, and getting it across the border to Canada.

On the back window Bart is mooning....haha.

I don't think you have anything to worry about regarding copyright laws. Fox would not spend legal fees trying to stop a $1200 vehicle on the road. Not sure about bringing it over the border. Here in Indiana you just need your bill of sale and you have like 10 days to get your plates. You should be able to Google buying a car in US and taking it into Camada.

Why not just ask Arce to pick you up and tow it back to your home? Just give him $30 for gas lol

I have heard nothing from the technician in Decatur but he runs service until 4:30 EST. Bikini, something else that worries me is that big fluid spot under where Nelson is. It looks fresh. I think I would pass on it especially with the distance you have to bring it back.

Good eye.

I'm guessing he has other offers and that's why he hasn't gotten back to me. I'd still like to talk to him though.

I sent a text to that technician. I have not heard anything back. You know if you get it I get to be the first one that you give a ride in it. Ummmm, take that however you want to, lol.  :-*

Hahaha yes bigmc, even if shizzo didn't lock his pink samsung galaxy, and accidently hit 'New Topic' while drunkenly falling down the stairs for the third time that evening, he would bring more quality to the table.

Bikini, the technician I know could not get a response back from the guy either to come and look at it. Sorry.

Bikini, I just talked to the technician and got the lowdown on this van. All the graphics are hand painted and pretty decently done. It is sitting at a place called Metzgers Motors. It has 212,000 miles on it. The body has some rust but is solid. Decent tires. It was originally used for a school district office. Interior is messed up. It has been sitting for 2 years due to a blown head gasket which is the cause of it getting hot. The technician called the overall condition "Pretty rough". If still interested PM me. I think you can get it pretty cheap. The guy at Metzgers Motors is holding it for the seller and needs it gone.

Wow....thank you! I still haven't heard back from that Mofo.

I might call Metzger Motors myself.

That's a lot of miles though. I'll look into things. How is the interior messed up? That might not matter to me.

Buy it cheap and put a head gasket on it... gasket runs about 750. After that you are good to go.
