I never understood why they couldn't.  Not from any religious standpoint, but that they should enjoy the same tax breaks as the rest of us.

Can you read? DOMA's being struck down doesn't magically enable gays to marry. It simply grants them certain federal benefits after they are married in a state that allows them to do as such. They already could marry in a cluster of states which now includes California.
