I swear, can AMC make a bad show? Aside from their inability to not show tits and say "fuck", I'd say the et surpassed them. Mad Men and The Killing are two of the best shows on tv. And, I've heard only good things about Breaking Bad and Walking Dead.
-
They also do Hell on Wheels... Which is also an amazing show.

I'm a big Mad Men fan, but BB and Walking Dead destroy it, IMO.

The only show I can't watch is mad men, but all the rest are awesome, I even liked Hell On Wheels

Mad Men is a great show, but it's best if it's watched in blocks. I hated it till I netflixed an entire season when I was sick. You can't really just jump right into it as a casual watcher.

Exactly how my wife and I got into it. We were remodeling our house and lived in a winter rental and started watching it from season one. We caught up before this past season. I did the same with The Wire a few years back. Caught up the very last season it was on.

stopped watching amc when they started showing commercials during their movies (they used to be like tcm and show movies commercial-free)

Been better than HBO for a while now. Almost everything they put out is top of the line. I'd also put FX in second place, too.

Muse = to think.
Amuse = to not think.
T.V. shows = hours spent each day not thinking.

I'm not a TV guy, but they have a good idea what viewers are looking for. Their marketing and survey contractors have done a good job.

Good to hear, Wife and me don't actually have a T.V, but we have a nice HD laptop so we can allot time to put something on if we really want to watch it.
Was thinking about TV the other day, how funny it would be to record a family all watching it for a few hours, but then remove the actual TV lol! 5 people sitting with mouths open, staring into space, not talking to eachother :'(

I love AMC......there were words that some Dish networks would not carry AMC anymore and the customers showed their dissatisfaction with the change and cancelled their subscription.......AMC is now better than TNT, TBS combined in the basic cable range......they're showing a lot more and better classic movies and their new shows are racking awards almost every season.....Mad Men season is already over and that was way too short...it's only 12 episodes......I hope it's not their next to last season.....

AMC has gotten better due to Breaking Bad and mad men but besides the AMC shows they show shitty edited movies! If not for their shows AMC would suck! I do think HBO has gotten alot worse over the last year though! Breaking bad really boosted AMC's ratings along with their other great shows but it was Breaking bad that started everything off for AMC. HBO needs a slap in the face! HBO just constantly shows shit!

East Bound and Down is cancelled right? 3 seasons and it's finished?
I don't watch True Blood, but everyone else seems to love it.

Eastbound was great for the 1st season or so....not so much after that. The main character just didn't really ever evolve, it got stale.
True Blood was solid to awesome for the first 2 seasons and then it went to shit, this current season doesn't look like it is holding much promise.
I still love The Wire (one of the best TV shows of all time) and Six Feet Under. Oz was good but to unbelievable most of the time, solid characters, though.
HBO Go is a godsend.

They ended Eastbound last season, but then they decided to bring it back for two more seasons. Larry David also announced another season. Two of the funniest shows on TV.

Oh cool! I didn't know about EBD's return... I love that show.

Haha that's a good perspective. TV really is a vacuum for quality family time. When the mrs and I start popping em out in about 8 years, the TV will be oFf limits for sure.

Neil Gaiman's AMERICAN GODS Tv Show Adaptation Gets The Green Light At HBO
HBO has decided to follow through with plans to develop Neil Gaiman's novel American Gods into its next drama spanning six seasons at present.
The show is being developed by Tom Hanks' Playtone Productions with a budget set at $40 Million per season, comprising of 10-12 episodes each. The story is fantasy focused and will likely utilize a significant amount of CGI and also includes a variety of characters.
American Gods might come either late this year or 2014.
The story follows Shadow, who is anticipating release from prison when he learns that his wife has died in a car accident, which is only the beginning of his misfortunes. Shadow goes on to develop an uneasy alliance with Mr. Wednesday, a compelling salesman, and becomes caught in the middle of a struggle between American Gods, young and old.

I don't watch any of the AMC series, but aside from Christina Hendricks tits, nothing could possibly hold a candle to Boardwalk Empire of Curb Your Enthusiasm.
End Thread.

AMC makes some great shows...They just need to pay some money and get more movies on the channel...
