This is the short film that was inspired in part by my documentary series, Raising the Bar.

It's about a former cop who is conflicted between the promises of a competitive bodybuilding career and a new relationship with a caring woman who at first seems to support him but eventually does not understand his devotion to bodybuilding.
The filmmaker Eugene Ioannou says that Raising the Bar and The Wrestler (with Micky Rourke) inspired him to take a shot at making this dramatic short about commitment and relationships, hoping of course for the opportunity to eventually make it into a feature length film.
Eugene's insights into the world, the language and the pressures of bodybuilding are perfectly accurate, and the acting is very good throughout. Starring Rob Youells (excellent in his first acting role!), Sharon Maguire, Mark Vincent and with a cameo by Gregg Valentino!
You can view the entire film (It's about 20 minutes long) for a small fee at the link I have provided.
Please let us know how you like it and spread the word. Do you think the world is ready for a real and accurate movie about bodybuilding? This could be it!

Why do some bb bounce when they pose like in the first ten seconds of the preview? its like contracting they're muscles suddenly adds hundreds of muscles of pounds and their joints are recoiling from the weight.

The one with Phil and Kai?
They should have made a documentary movie about Big Ramy doing his first Olympia instead. That would be awesome.

They should have made a documentary about getbiggers in real life. That would be entertaining to everyone.
They could interview me sitting here in a recliner, posting racist comments while eating turtle soup.

Yes, it would called "Over Hyped" about how Big Ramy never delivered and is the latest in "hyped" big men. It will also show "behind the scenes footage" of him negotiating with OPEC in providing his abundant supply of oil.
-
I'd rather know about the conflict of being a bodybuilder and a cop as it relates to drug use.

If he failed it would still be very good and his hype would make a good intro.
It could start out with footage from Egypt and polaroids from his poor upbringing.
Have no interest in watching Phil walk around looking small in a hoodie and thinking he is a gift.
