Only the men's overall open winner is tested and maybe one random sample from the open men.
-
I thought all competitors took a polygraph...at least they did when I competed in that contest, over-all is urine tested to go to Worlds....

IFBB World Mans Championship (or mr.universe)
Marrakesh,Morocco
4-8 November 2013 (that's 5 months away)
SO ::), for which UNIVERSE is this NPC Team Universe heading ???
The NPC Team Universe is the US qualifier for the IFBB World Amateur Championships.
The IFBB stopped calling their contest Mr Universe in 1977 due to a copyright infringement with NABBA, which owns the rights to the Mr Universe name.
By the way, I know I'm repeating myself, but if you include all 18 IFBB Mr Universe contests along with the IFBB Worlds, this year will be the 54th IFBB World Championships, not the 67th as the IFBB claims. However the first four Mr Universes were clearly not amateur contest, so this will be the 50th IFBB World Amateur Championships. You'd think they'd be making a big deal of it.
The 67th is just a made up number so that it appears older than the NABBA Mr Universe.

Tim, last 2 Ifbb World Mans championship were also advertised as Mr.Universe's too :P
Number of 54 (or 67) Ifbb World Championship is TOTAL bulldust, Mister Universe title is NOT a World title ;)
For example WHO was Ifbb World Champion 1966 or 1967 , NOBODY at all ;D
We well know that Mr.World or Mr.Universe is just bodybuilders title for bodybuilders only.
NABBA or anyone else don't own national or International Trade Mark/Copyright or Ownership of "Mister & Universe'' !
Anyway International Weightlifting Organizations 1947 Mr.Universe contest was just side show for the World Weightlifting
Championship, just like Strength & Health magazine Mr.Universe 1948.

the official name of the contest is IFBB World Amateur Championships, prior to 1978 it was called the IFBB Mr Universe. And yes, in 1977 the IFBB changed the name from Mr Universe to World Amateur Championships because of copyright issues.

your dates are off. the first bodybuilding contest to use the name Universe was in 1948 in London, at the same time as the London Olympics.

Two years later NABBA held another in London, and has held one every year since. It was _the_ Mr Universe contest.
The first time someone else used the title Mr Universe was in Virginia in 1956. It was considered a disaster.

Then finally, the Weider brothers held a contest they called Mr Universe in 1959.

Could not get a copy of Strength & Health mag covering '51 Nabba Mr.U to see any photos of Weider
on that stage.Regarding to D. Lurie ;D, Weider borrowed somebody's posing trunks to
compete ;D ;D ;D
O, by the way French Mr.World competition also predated Weiders Bros contests too ,
just remember Steve Reeves 1948 victory in Cannes at this event.
