Yamaha 1100.

Dragstar?

I have the Vstar/Dragstar 650, I can feel already its not a big enough engine, the bike is fine as in I don't look too big on it, but I keep thinking it needs another sixth gear.

I collided with a Deer on my motorcycle many years ago when I was younger.  Nearly cost me my life.   My interest in riding motorcycles ended with that brush with death.   You fucker just be careful.  Shit happens incredibly fast on a bike, and many times your fate is out of your hands.

Yup. I have an old jeep that I only use to transport my kayak. A lot of those miles were from a year I spent commuting 80 miles each way to work. Then I spent several years living in different cities and I would ride my bike to each location and pocket the plane ticket money they would give me.

Cool saved some gas vs a car or the jeep as well.

Ya plus I'd rather put the miles on a bike then a car. Used bike engines don't cost shit and easy to find. I used to have a cts-v that I didn't want to put miles on. I got a used 06 motor with 5,000 miles on it that came off a crashed bike for 600$. It's sitting in the garage and when this engine dies I'll just do a swap.

I'm in upstate NY so its cold as fuck many months out of the year. Full leather suit. Something warm underneath. baklava (face/neck mask). One good trick is to wear your rain gear, it totally blocks out the wind. I experimented with a heated jacket, but the rain gear works just as well.

this was shot at my buddy's camp. I raced him on the road while he was on the side on his snowmobile. Never figured out where that video went.

I'd say close to 0 just to do it. But commuting to work usually stops at 32 now that I'm wiser. But of course I often get caught in the 20's. I've left tracks in snow so many times. When I lived in NYC I never owned a car. so for 27 years I was motorbike only. I had a BMW gs so I rode that fucker in deep snow if I had to.

Check out this crazy fucker named Sjaak Lucassen. He went on a 5 year ride across 40 countries, rode this year from Alaska to argentina in January. and he does it all on an 02 R1

Brutal sometimes I think of selling my car and just ride the bike but when it hits winter I say hell no.

That dude is insane some people just want to see how much they can take ie a challenge.

I have a 96 jeep that I bought for $1,000. I've put over 40,000 miles on it. If your into bikes, just by a old beater.

But I totally redid my jeep, it looks awesome. Its funny people will go out and spent 30-40k on a new jeep. I put 4k into the body of mine. replaced almost every body part, new rims, new tires, carpet, seats, paint. The engine has 200k, but jeep 4.0's are know to go 500k. If the engine ever dies I'll throw in a 4.7 stoker engine, installed for under 5k. Thats as good as new jeep for less than 10 grand!

It amazes me how much people waste on their cars.

the right bike for the old man, ugly and terrible to ride: in 1998 i purchased for few bucks a moto guzzi V35 from a lady who was widow.
It was sitting in a barn since many years, so i had to fix a few things, it had 242.000 kms on it (more than 150.000 miles).
I usually make 20.000 kms per year on it (ca. 12/13.000 miles)...

Currently have a 1985 Honda Rebel to get around town on - it's fun and runs great, but I'm too big for it.

I'm going to pick up this '98 Triumph Thunderbird this weekend if all goes according to plan:
