Title: food vs cardio when dieting
Post by: nextgen on July 10, 2013, 09:05:16 AM
what do you think is better during contest prep, eating more food and doing more cardio, or eating less food and doing less cardio

is it simply just cals in vs cals out, or would eating more allow you to 'grow into the show' whilst the cardio and drugs keep the fat off

Eating cleaner, less food, and doing more cardio.

did you not understand the point of the thread, lots of prep coaches have their guys eating more going into a show, especially carbs, but making them hammer the cardio to lose fat.. is this the best way to go about it

More food and more cardio makes for a faster metabolism and optimizes the body. this is my experience.

Eating cleaner, less food, and doing more cardio.

Right here!  And this will aid in living longer, feeling better, and looking better. Running 30-40 miles a week now and feeling awesome.

More food with an emphasis on fast digesting proteins, plenty of green veggies, and low intensity cardio is the key.    Conversely, too little calories and/or protein, and too high of intensity of cardio will rob you of hard-earned muscle as quickly as the AIDS virus, especially if you are not on drugs.

pointless, why bring in the calories in the first place if you are just going to get rid of them. It' s paying for the same real estate twice for nothing

I personally prefer more food and more cardio. However I enjoy cardio and I enjoy food. I could cut both back but when I eat a bit more I feel better period. I'm one of the few that enjoy cardio.

we are not talking feeling, we are talking physique and if you cut back on both, they will cancel each other out and physique will be the exact same

If the physique is the same than you may as well do what makes you feel better. In my case more of both.
