WASHINGTON — With major battles looming in the fall over the federal budget and the debt ceiling, President Barack Obama is trying to regain the initiative, embarking on a campaign-style tour of the Midwest this week to lay out his agenda for reinvigorating the nation’s economy, administration officials said Sunday.
Obama’s offensive will begin Wednesday in Galesburg, Ill., with what his aides are saying will be a major address on economic policy at Knox College. Officials declined to provide details of the president’s message, but said he would set his terms for what they expect will be another bruising battle with a Republican-controlled House over the nation’s fiscal policies.
White House officials liken Wednesday’s speech to one he gave in 2011 in Osawatomie, Kan., where he articulated the theme of economic inequality in American society that became a leitmotif of his re-election campaign; and one at Georgetown University soon after taking office in 2009, when he talked about how the American economy would recover from the Great Recession.

With Congress blocking most of Obama’s major initiatives, he has focused on measures that do not require new legislation. But he will need to forge agreements with Congress to avert another shutdown of the government or a default on the nation’s debt.

I said Hillary was the real deal for years... I gave Obama lost of fair chances, and while there are some things I think he's correct on, there are a great deal (many many more as of late) that he seems to have no clue about.
The democratic base is ruining the party, just like the evangelicals ruined the republicans.

I think the evangelicals are going to get dumped. The tea party is trying to make their move. If you want a choice between Rino's and real fiscal conservatives...you vote tea party. Same with Dems....while Limbaugh and Hannity may bash her...she's not as nuts as Obama. Plus she saw what worked in the 90's. I don't think she's stupid. She's watched her husband kick ass and watched Barry flail along. She knows full well that a strong domestic policy with low unemployment, low debt and moderate spending works for everybody...any mistakes on foreign policy can be forgiven if people are pumping dollar gas and watching their 401k inflate.
