If someone is your face YOU HAVE ALREADY HALF LOST THAT FIGHT because you can be suckered. With 5 feet of space, and your eye on him, you at least have some reaction time.

If I'm 6 inches from someone and shit is getting hectic, I need to step back 5 feet and reassess if I need to be in that room.
Maybe I'm just getting old or something :)

How am I fishing the bouncers lift at the gyms that I train and work, you would never see a 155 pound guy being a bouncer even if he can kick ass cause nobody would respect him at the door, a big dude is used for intimidation but since I am a big dude also the bouncer size does not intimidate me so he gives me the alpha male respect.

When it's time to go to work, they put on their game face.

They have no idea what condition they will return home in.

They do have a lot of female "friends" but for the most part, they just get slung over each shoulder and thrown into their cars. Keys are taken and given back when they sober up. Wow. NOT glamourous.
