Title: Nasty Croc Bite
Post by: pedro01 on July 25, 2013, 04:16:33 AM

BANGKOK: -- The crocodile trainer who survived a terrifying croc attack earlier this week spoke out for the first time about the near-death experience that left him with 30 stitches on his head.

During a show that went horribly wrong at Samut Prakan Crocodile Farm and Zoo, the world’s biggest and Thailand’s oldest, a tourist filmed Prawit Seabmee, 27, being mauled by a croc.

The amateur video, which went viral on social media, showed Prawit placing his head in a croc’s mouth as part of a stunt when, suddenly, the reptile snapped its jaws shut.

Prawit told Channel 7 that he managed to pull his head out in time yet still sustained multiple bite wounds around his head. The croc trainer, who has performed with the animal for four months and over one hundred shows, said that this was the first mishap that had ever happened to him.

Did they fine him for violating the rules? Illegal bite, a 4 show suspension and no lamb for two weeks. Savage owning by the way. It really looks like the croc just sent a big F....off to everyone by doing this. Could have probably killed the guy if he wanted to.

Fixed. IQ and income might have something to do with one another though.

When are they going to start testing crocs for roid use? Clearly, the croc went into roid rage from abusing test suspension and cheque drops before the show.

This has got to stop. Won't someone think of the children?

Well - the place in question ain't a petting zoo.

It's a farm/zoo - heavy on the farm...

You can:

- hatch a baby croc
- walk along the elevated pathways above the croc enclosures
- feed the crocs chicken carcasses by hanging them over the barrier on a long stick and line
- watch them in the crocodile show
- eat crocodile satay and crocodile soup
- buy a croc skin handbag/pair of boots

Not so much 'cradle to grave' as 'cradle to  wardrobe'.

They get a few suicides there a year, mostly broken hearted Thai women who end it all by throwing themselves into the croc enclosure.

The fences in those places aren't really that high, so it's easy enough to get in. It's also interesting when you get major flooding in these croc farms because the flood water has been known to go higher than the fences. There's good reward money in finding an escaped crocodile. It'd be cool if they counted the crocs too - then they'd know when they got them all back...

The croc should have gotten a bonus for making it more exciting!  :)

Putting your head in a crocodile's mouth is unnecessary and stupid. Too bad he got away with only 30 stitches.

Did you know that ALL alligators are crocodiles, but NOT all crocodiles are alligators? Sound confusing? We thought so! Both alligator and crocodiles belong to the reptilian order Crocodylia. Usually when people call one of these reptiles a crocodile, what they actually mean is “crocodilian,” since these two are quite different.
