The parents of a 17-month-old girl have been arrested after she was allegedly strapped in a car seat for 15 hours without food or water and suffocated to death after a blanket was stuffed into her mouth. Toni Maurie Gwynn was found unresponsive at her parents' home in Eden, North Carolina on July 11 after her father, Antonio Gwynn, 22, allegedly forced the blanket into the child's mouth to stop her from crying. Her father, Antonio Gwynn, 22, has been charged with felony child abuse and second-degree murder and her mother, Heather Gwynn, 22, has been charged with felony child abuse.
Toni's grandparents, Chris and Sue Paul, have told the Greensboro News-Record that they fought to help the girl and her two siblings, but that their daughter would not let them get close. 'She just shut us out of her life,' Chris Paul of Heather Gwynn. 'I think she knew if we saw how bad things were in that house, we wouldn't have put up with it.' The couple said they moved to North Carolina from Maine to help their daughter with her children, but that Heather distanced herself from the family.

you'd be surprised at the amount of calls/false allegations that they get...so many people that have kids, who think that the children are only a ways/means for a check, and other than that nothing more than a burden to them.

Brunswick, Ga. resident Sherry West, 42, mother of baby Antonio Santiago slain on March 14, 2013, told CNN’s Piers Morgan she wants the alleged teen killers to die during an on-camera interview. “A life for a life,” she said.
De’Marquis Elkins, 17, and Dominique Lang, 15, were arrested and charged with murdering the 13-month-old. Their trial was set for this August but their public defender, Jonathan Lockwood, uncovered some shocking evidence.
She lied! The gunshot residue was found on both West and baby Antonio’s father, Louis, who was initially reported no where near the crime scene.
Back in March, West told police that while on her way home from the post office two black boys attempted to rob her. When she told them that she didn’t have any money, they shot baby Antonio in the face, then shot her in the leg before running away.
The state forensic report says, “This supports the possibility that [Louis Santiago] discharged a firearm, was in close proximity to a firearm upon discharge, or came into contact with an item whose surface bears GSR [gunshot residue].”
Remember, accused Elkins’ mother Karimah Aisha Elkins, 36, and aunt Katrina Latrelle Elkins, 33, were arrested and charged with making false statements. A gun was found but authorities never indicated it was a murder weapon.
Also, West’s daughter Ashley Glassey, 21, said she didn’t want to wrongly accuse her mother but had her doubts because her stories were conflicting and she may have committed the murder for insurance money.
Police have not named Sherry West or Louis Santiago suspects in their son’s murder; however, Santiago is in jail for aggravated stalking of West.
“He went nuts … he was throwing things through the window and terrorizing me, saying that I killed my baby and it should have been me,” West tells CBS.

What is the point of child protection services? Every article like this includes the statement "friends and family contacted child services many times but nothing ever came of it."
Every kidnapped victim that escapes was held hostage in a house that had been visited by child services numerous times, every time a child is killed by family, we find out child services had been contacted many times, every former child of abuse says that child services were frequently called to their home, but nothing ever came of it (besides getting beat by the parents for getting child services called on them).
Is there ever a case where child services acted on a tip and a child was saved from an abusive home (besides the occasional report of them "rescuing" a child after repeated calls from neighbors about a four year old kid left home alone for days at a time)?

hey, hey, CPS is very quick to punish or take the kids out of loving homes for super severe offenses like spanking their kids, making them go to bed without supper, or making them sit in the car after theyve thrown a tantrum in a store.

Just saying, the mentality of someone who would abandon "her people" is questionable IMO...
I just read a story about some mudshark that was attacked by her black boyfriend, her brother tried to defend her and he was stabbed in the head 19 times. This kind of thing is a daily occurrence, yet the "black community" dares act like they have something to be outraged about...
