Phil is not that big...He hasn't really ballooned up. He was about 225 in 2006, and incrementally gotten bigger. Like Flex SHOULD have done.

To keep the tension on the muscle. It looks sloppy, but that's not important.

Flex Lewis has bided his time and grown into championship form

This, and training on drugs is different than training naturally.

The recovery process is much faster, so you can increase the volume and/or frequency, but I believe that both categories can benefit from constant tension techniques.

I think one of the most advantageous things for him is having guidance and not making the big fuck ups that everyone else does.

Some people overdose their research grade T3 or clen and fuck themselves up, run too high anabolics and get androgen flu, use insulin too much and the chronic elevation of slin and blood glucose makes their body fat as well as weak and exhausted, blowing up too quickly and causing cardiac damage from being a bloated water buffalo for no reason, etc.

Phil's been really consistent in coming up. He shrinks down a lot of the times too and you can tell he's all drugs, but hey, he's using them safely and he's going to stick around for a long time. Look at guys like Luke Wood who were on diuretics year-round and now we talk about his compulsive, neurotic disorder which ultimately lead to his death. Phil is not as strong and muscled as a guy like Kai, but he's doing things safe and smart. People freak out because he's Mr. O and look down on him because he's not living up to expectations, but on the other hand they laugh because he's a blow up doll. Can't win everyone over but I think he's doing things smart. Better smart than dead.

Hasn't Kai been doing this for a while now too? Is Kai 40?

Physical age aside, Kai's had a much rougher life than Phil. I imagine he's put a lot of tread on his tires. Phil's younger and fresher and has had no where near the level of stress. And despite his structural setbacks I think he could be an aesthetic Ronnie Coleman given some more time.

None of today's pros have it and if the "Sport" continues in the direction it's going, they never will.

this... he is nt that big.... he has good insertions which creates the illusion of him being bigger than he is

You put Phil next to a prime Ronnie, and you'd see the difference. About the only thing that would compare would be the delts/arms, if that. That's it.

We mean within the given context.

IFBB Pros are not exactly the pinnacle of health and I don't think anyone's convinced otherwise. ;)

How many times did Phil do any contest diet before 2006? Wasn't his first show ever in 2004?

His first Pro show was in 2006. He won his first 2 Pro shows.
He got his Pro card in 2005.

This is from his first training vid...he has like 3-4 of them.
