Title: Thinking of taking up biking
Post by: animal1991 on August 03, 2013, 10:39:38 AM
Well I'm pretty sick of bodybuilder's mentality and the obsessiveness that goes with it.

I've been thinking for a while of taking up road biking as it sounds like a great challenge.

Who's into biking and do you have any tips regarding buying a new road bike etc?

Thanks

Still a whole lot of douchebags in road biking but probably a lot less than bodybuilding.

road biking is boring as shit, take up MTB - cross-country, freeride, downhill maybe - that's where it's at !

Well I'm from South Africa, so I would say between R3000 - R5000 which is around $300 - $500.

Probably isn't much but I can't afford a $1000 bike

Haha. A "grown" man riding a bicycle is gayer than dominating a sport non of your fellow countrymen care about with one nut an IV of test strapped to your back.

Road biking best starter bikes giant defy 2 compact and specialized allez sport.  Mountainbiking is way more fun, go full sus straight away, hardtails are for getting milk from the shops.  Get into mountainbiking and you will never regret it.

After seeing these pictures, it only makes sense why people rather train upper body, or the traditional beach body workout in the gym. Only makes sense.

 ;D
There is a picture of a woman measuring his legs at 28". And I agree with you.

I know hes a weird, long torso dwarf body, but I thought his wheels would measure bigger than that.

Those thighs belong to sprint bikers on an indoor track. The distance guys don't have thighs like that.

.    I'm a competitive cyclist since 1993. Mine are 27 inches... don't really know if that's big or not? I guess small for bbing?  Started on the velodrome and branched out into other disciplines.
